There are so many independent coffee roasters that are popping up around here all of the time that it's hard to keep track, but stumptown is a pretty good mass market standard for portland. Some people (hippies) are still upset at them because some faceless investment group apparently bought a stake in them a few years ago, but personally I don't care. Their cold brew bottles are essentially the best energy drink you can buy. No sugar, no bitterness, and it taste like it has chocolate milk in it even though it's just straight coffee.
In a coffee shop I like getting a cappuccino, cold pressed coffee, or pour over coffee, but for every day drinking I just french press a middle tier roast ($12-13/lb).
Coffee drinking is a lot like beer and spirits, it's all about what you want out of the experience. Just want a shot in the arm at work? Use an old fashioned coffee maker and cheap, bulk beans. You can also spend an afternoon and $15-20 letting a good barista get you the shakes if you're into that. Sometimes you pay more for quality products and sometimes you pay more for a brand and a lifestyle that a company can sell you on. I definitely encourage you all to get some of the good stuff and experiment a little.
I'll do a little research and start a real OT soon.

Lol there should be no bad blood in the first place. We only really supposed to "hate" Spurs and Mavs. That's just natural.

By spooks Go To PostHawks are so shook they are begging for lil b's help. Shameful.
They really are lol
By matrixGreen Go To PostThis is directed to Mamba, wtf are you talking about with regards to the 4th. Really smh
Curry attacked Harden correctly to try to get the ball, but i didn't know that kinda elite reach in/over the back D by Klay at the end of a game was allowed… guess so. Took me a min to even notice the ref watching it go down. They never showed that angle on ESPN live when the play was happening lol
That game left a sour taste in my mouth. Mamba (Lakers homer acting like the Warriors were screwed by the refs in the 4th) lol give me a break. Watching a game through your Dwight tinted hate glasses.
Nice foul on Green… nope called on Jones. I mean come now.
https://vine.co/v/eqZAZ0Fw7L6
How about another…
https://vine.co/v/eq7JVrAiP5L
I can't find a vine yet of the elbow Bogut tossed into Dwight's neck and Dwight was called for the foul since he pushed off after the elbow. Also the clear out of bounce off Curry in front of a ref and ball was given back to GS.
I'm only venting cause of Mamba's bs post about the 4th and the Dubs getting bad breaks from the refs. All of these non calls or calls in favor of the Dubs were in the 4th too.
Dubs didn't have any bad breaks. They won, that's all. If anything they had an extra man playing for them who goes by the name Smooth.
I'm not saying the Rockets didn't lose this themselves * crap play by almost everyone but Harden and Howard, coaching, missed fts etc*, but don't say the Warriors got screwed in the 4th just cause you hate Houston/Howard.
If they had been screwed or fucked over by the refs in the 4th a call would have been made on Klay and the Harden hate would be 10x worse than it already is and a * would be put up next the Rockets winning this game.
It will be interesting to see how its called in Houston.
edit- can't wait for the 20+ replies about salt and other crap after what I just wrote, but the refs did not screw the Warriors over in any way in the 4th with bad breaks and that's practically fact.
Eh, I never indicated I thought the Warriors were gonna be screwed. had they lost, it would have been on them. I don't think 2 of the things you mentioned are even bad calls at all. Only Green fouling really. Overall, it seemed to go against the Warriors in the 4th. There will always be bad calls, but the egregiously bad ones are the ones that get annoying (ie the Curry charge, Harden 2 hand push). The others are more "normal" to say.
Just saying that it felt nice that the Warriors survived despite what I felt was a bit of one-sidedness in the 4th.
The difference between the Clippers and Warriors is the Warriors don't panic. They gave up the big lead and regrouped. They had some calls go against them and regrouped. The Clippers do not. Very rarely do I ever say the officiateing cost the team a game. For instance, Atlanta had some ATROCIOUS calls against them in the 3rd last game, but that didn't cost them the game. Their mental fortitude in that moment did (in fact, I think JR's shooting caused their mental focus to disappear, so credit to JR).
Rockets lost because of Josh Smith and Prigioni, mostly. Houston's offense is doing okay because Harden is amazing at shooting right now. But if that goes away, oh boy.

I watched this yesterday at a bar...and laughed my fuckin ass off when it ended. There were like 4-5 Rox goons who were feelin themselves too much during that final run. "Dey scared now! Dey dun want none this! H-town chippin it!"
And once the buzzer rang, I was screaming "Fuck the Rockets".

Listening to the Lowe Post podcast, and the Cavs will be in an interesting spot next offseason. Windhorst speculating that Love is gone, and that they're gonna be forced to overpay JR and Shump to keep LeBron happy.
Bron was apparently pissed that the Heat amnestied Mike Miller and got the impression that Arison wasn't sacrificing like everyone else was.
The Cavs are also dealing with the fact that Blatt, a coach hand picked by Gilbert, is being overridden and having his entire system thrown out because Bron wants to play how he did during his first stretch with the Cavs.
Obviously the Cavs should be thrilled to have Bron back, but he brings a ton of baggage and demands that would be tough to handle as an owner, GM and coach.

Another reason why LeBron left was because Riley wouldn't let him and his management run the organization.

After the ludicrously biased officiating of the last two games, I wouldn't be surprised if Harden shoots 20 FTs tomorrow.

If the Cavs reach the Finals without Love and Kyrie that's a new low for the East.
If I was a GM or owner in the West I'd be pushing hard to institute true 1-16 seeding. The East's fuckery is hurting the sport.

By Forever Go To PostGondo you are a better poster when you aren't salty and bitter. This doesn't stem from personal interest: the current structure benefitted us this season. We got a significantly higher draft pick and rest even though we would have been the 6 seed in the East.
I'm saying this as a fan of the sport of basketball: the conference seeding structure hurts the game. If there was 1-16 seeding we'd see the best teams advance further more consistently and we'd have much better basketball late in the postseason instead of the farcical shitshow that is the East playoffs.
By KingGondo Go To PostIf the Cavs reach the Finals without Love and Kyrie that's a new low for the East.next year they should improve. pacers and bulls will be back and most likely improved. maybe miami depending on how some things go.

By K@do #TeamTowns Go To Postsmokey, $18oz coffee is virtually AAA titles.WTF you know about Colombian pastries?
us peasants only buy Kroger's brand of colombian coffee.
Why we can't say Tristan Thompson maybe actually impacting Cavs positively more than Love?
that's actually an possibility, isn't dude like averaging 5 offensive reb per game?
Love may as well Ryan Anderson at current role.
2011 Mavs lose Caron Butler that's their 2nd-3rd best player on regular season, I think Love on this year might've just as valuable as Caron on that Mavs team.
But yeah no excuse Cavs can escape to finals with hobbled Kyrie

By unknown Go To Postnext year they should improve. pacers and bulls will be back and most likely improved. maybe miami depending on how some things go.Bulls are a huge what-if. Whoever replaces Thibs will probably be a downgrade. They're also old as hell.
Pacers will be interesting but not a true contender. Miami will be good but their status rests on the health of Wade (lol) and Bosh, who is getting older not to mention his blood clot issues.
Regardless of what happens the East will continue to be significantly weaker than the West next season, especially outside of the top 2-3 seeds.
By spooks Go To PostDemarre seriously going to try and play. That's … Not smart. He will know his body more than anyone else.
