By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostAnd this is in relation to n8’s post too, but shouldn’t good managers take that into account. Yes, he is a liability with the ball at his feet, but he is still one of the top few goalkeepers in the world when it comes to doing the goalkeeper stuff. He’s shit at shotvstopping and commanding his box. What could us, Brighton and Brentford have done to Man Utd if we didn't go easy on them in the second halves?
Any of those matches could have been 8-0

By Cleff Go To PostThere's plenty of good players on the market. We don't need elite level talents to significantly improve the squad. The problem is now that everyone knows we're desperate and prices will be jacked up.Oh, yeah our scouts are high af.
Our next issue is our recruitment team is clearly awful. They had no work done on Nkunku when Rangnick asked about him and their top defensive target was Pau Torres. A player with worse physical attributes that Viktor Lindelof.
Our next issue after that is the Glazers just don't want to spend the money required to overhaul the side.
3 weeks of the window left - lets see what happens.
What worries me is how static our backline is in transition.
I say move Martinez to CDM in the mean time, move Erikssen further up the field.

Really?
United would have been a lot more embarrassing without some of his performances the last few years.
Dropped two points to a goal by a goalkeeper. Feels weird man.
Mad really, threw away the points in 7 minutes but the team's performance didn't deserve that. Neil should have brought fresh legs on 10 minutes before they scored and I'm pretty confident we'd have won by the two goals because they had nothing until they exploited our lack of energy in midfield and got a freekick in a fantastic position. So I put the draw at his feet.
And then the equalizer is something that happens maybe twice a season in a league at most.

Brentford 11 cost less than £60m. You don’t need to spend hundreds of millions to get players who aren’t weak willed and don’t give up at the slightest hint of a fight. You do need to be ruthless and just admit you’ve wasted money and this player isn’t good enough for the club. Take your losses and get on with it.
New team costs too much. Sweet dividends the priority.

The below is something we talked about on here at the time Ten Hag was unofficially confirmed. We needed a manager with a clearly defined philosophy to drill the players relentlessly in that style. But we had done none of the groundwork required to see that manager succeed. We essentially don't have a midfield and the football Ten Hag coaches requires his defenders and midfielders to be technically sound.
We're asking Ten Hag to rebuild a failed footballing structure rather than just coach the side. He could take over from Guardiola at the end of the season and we'd see that theoretical City side flourish. Every player in that side, bar Haaland has impeccable ball control and is comfortable when being pressed.

Maguire is only playing because he cost £80m. Shaw is only playing because he has experience. Rashford is only playing because he’s Manc. Elanga and McTominay are only playing because they came through the system. De Gea is only playing because he’s on £300k a week. Ronaldo is only playing because he’s a legend.
These aren’t reasons to pick players.

Ok, I guess I should shut up haha.
Fucking anyone, we’re conceding 4 goals against teams like Brentford, Brighton, Watford. It’d be understandable if it was just City and Liverpool making us look like school children, but it’s not.
Rashford was our best player today btw.
Not that he actually played well. But rather he created our two best chances. Only forward who even threatened to so anything.

De Gea can blame himself but United haven’t looked like scoring in either game so far this season. Hilarious own goal against Brighton aside.
And yeah I prefer Rashford’s at least trying to do something and failing vs the invisible man on the other wing for sure.

Football ain’t easy when there are no penalties.
By Daz Go To PostWho comes in for them though?Malacia and Varane start for me in the next. Push Martinez to DM. Can't be any worse than Eriksen / McTom / Fred, and you get a free hit to be dogshit against Liverpool, so why not.

Dalot, Fernandes, Ronaldo still keep their spots unfortunately. I don't think Sancho gets better while tethered to Dalot.

The solution is very simple, the glazers need to go
This is what happens when you don’t have the right football structure in place, no one to challenge the manager and fickle minded owners.
When the club employees someone like Darren fucking Fletcher, the end result is not surprising

This really isn't the issue.
United need to offload a bunch of bad apples in their dressing room. Not running, not showing any desire is an issue that has been going on since Ole. Each time a star or solution is being brought in they get dragged down by the rest of the bunch.
Mou was right all along to vehemently want to get rid of certain players who poisoned the dressing room. As much fun as it was to blame it solely on Mou there was a clear obvious need to it.
By DerZuhälter Go To PostThis really isn't the issue.Typically, you would correct - the whole drill em till they get it right would take some time and while that is being done you would count on some quality to get you through while work was being done in the background. Thats not even working.

By DerZuhälter Go To PostThis really isn't the issue. No, it's definitely the biggest issue. We haven't actually had a manager who believes in proactive football since Van Gaal. Moyes, Mourinho and Solksjaer all played counterattacking football and left the forwards to work out the attack themselves. Eventually we came unstuck against sides who were drilled competently in defence.

As a result we've a squad which struggles in even the basics of possession based football and what to when pressed. For a manager like Ten Hag, who bases his foot all around possession and dominance in attack, you're asking him to box with both arms behind his back.
Mourinho can talk all he wants a out toxicity but he was the worst offender in that regard.
By Perfect Blue Go To Post😂 Ridiculous
Of course the build up from the back is shit, you're playing with Christensen and Garcia you fucking midget
How’s Maguire still United captain. The mentality of the team is completely wrong and it starts with him, for me.

In their post match interviews Brentfords players stated that they knew they'd unsettle us through their pressing game. Clubs identified last season that we have some technically poor players and also that we struggle to regain shape in the defensive transitions.
So if course we do absolutely nothing in the transfer market to strengthen the deficiencies in midfield. Ten Hag is a good coach, but no amount of training will ever be enough to upskill McTominay or make Fred a capable distributor from deep.

A recognizable playing style or whatever is pointless unless it’s the best way forward to get results, and I’m doubtful Ten Hag’s “style” is just that.
1. Good thing the fax failed.
2. Barcelona illegal team needs a better manager. Activate one lever for Guardiola or Moyes

By Perfect Blue Go To PostA recognizable playing style or whatever is pointless unless it’s the best way forward to get results, and I’m doubtful Ten Hag’s “style” is just that. That's not the argument being made though. It's that we went all in on a manager with a distinct style of football, but did none of the groundwork required to see that style flourish.
I'd also argue that a distinct tactical shift is the best way forward to get results. Our last two permanent managers, Mourinho and Solksjaer had broadly similar philosophies and tactics. Both their reigns ended in shambles and both had similar issues with regards to playing style. We moved to a different method in Ten Hag, but still have so many of Solksjaers/Mourinhos players who struggle, or have neve played in possession based systems
