Keane was better than any of those midfielders. Terry and Vidic were better than Van Dijk. At least there's no Scholes or Lampard.
Henry and Salah should be swapped around and 06-09 vintage Ronaldo should be in ahead of Salah.
But it's a fan vote where recency bias rules.

Terry and Vidic are not better than Van Dijk lol wtf. Any greatest of all time list that isn’t filled with players from the present day, as in playing now, is a joke

Any greatest of all time list that isn’t filled with players from the present day, as in playing now, is a jokeTerry was fantastic m8, like Rooney, Terry is someone thats well respected for their football ability outsite of just the UK and thats pretty rare for a british.
Also, there's nothing wrong with including players from other old eras. You can say Pele is the greatest football player of all time while still recognising he's not as good as Mbappe.

please dont talk to me ever again
Van Djik is obv fantastic and will be a Liverpool legend for sure, but a PL GOAT? Not sure about that.
If greatest of all time would be based on 1v1 comparisons of pure footballing capability, then Quaresma is the GOAT lmao
By domino Go To PostFoden really got a BDO nomination lol
It's a long list. Even Haller is on it

van Dijk is better than Vidic and Terry. One of the most unique defenders in the history of the league tbh. Lets Liverpool play in a totally different way.
I'd be pretty confident that if you asked any PL manager who they'd rather have between VD and those two, van Dijk would come out ahead of them both combined.

But VVD is sensational and playing in the modern era, which is way more difficult and athletes now are supreme freaks compared to even just 10 years ago. There’s no comparison to be had

Well I'd assume so at least

VVD was at Celtic and Southampton until he was 27(?), kinda hard for him to secure a place in an EPL all time 11 just yet imo
Terry obviously was a great defender too, has clean sheet records, more trophies, also great on the ball, spent his whole career in the EPL from age 19(?), even has similar goal contribution, captain, leader, legend, etc.

We're getting old m8s

I haven't seen the same of Rio or Terry but don't think they would have done it the same way.

Can't wait for tomorrow
Any team without Rooney in it is an embarrassment, you can’t use the “modern football is just better” argument for a team with Neville and Shearer in it, either.
What do we value here. Get your one/zero league title bros out of this team.

Players with insane technical ability and the work rate to match are special. Tevez and Suarez in the same vein but without the positional versatility.

I wish we had the 6 am game tomorrow so I could sleep through it...
one game in and the season is looking hopeless

Love it when the first game is 8:30pm. Have the brits jettisoned the time change yet? Would be ideal if it were like this all year.
It's amazing how often people accidentally say Manchester United when they mean City without anybody even noticing

Tony Adams
Rio
Vidic
Terry
Stam.
I have them all above VVD.
I am not going to be drawn into a thing about the fan-voted team of the PL, but I do think FF makes the only valid argument against why VVD could be behind players like Terry or Vidic. To say they had longer, more successful careers in the PL is accurate, but VVD stands head and shoulders above all of them as a footballer. Had he been a part of a longer period of sustained success, the way the competition had, he’d be easily recognized as one of the all time great center backs.
Is Luna still in London? A mate of mine can't go to the Lester game but has a ticket so if he wants to go.. wake up buddy.
Feel like you need a bunch of given parameters to get any kind of consensus in an all-time thing. Everyone places different importance on longevity, peaks, records and trophies.
