Arnautovic and Rabiot....I mean apart from the problems both have, especially in the case of Arnautovic, and if we were getting them having signed the likes of FDJ and Sesko or Gakpo, I'd say they are good squad depth for the short term. But we haven't, and after the horror show of McFred yesterday and the total team performance I don't know what is going on with this club. I thought Martinez played well enough. Eriksen was immediately the best player the moment he dropped deep into midfield and started dictating play. The problems we had yesterday, apart from the blunder of going with a false nine, were all from the players who has been at the club before. It'd be interesting to see what these players do next because it is beginning to seem like what Rangnick said about needing 10 new players might just be true. Hats off the Potter though. Even in the best of times playing against his team is never easy. He is a very impressive coach and their recruitment in Brighton is very well done.

I imagine it’s linked to wages too? Getting Lingard, Mata, Pogba and Matic off the books helps, but Bailly cost 30m, is probably on 100k+ and is our fifth choice CB (not to mention Jones!). Ronaldo’s wages a huge albatross around our necks too.
