By n8 dogg Go To PostSomeone go look at Pep’s first season at City, please. Or Klopp’s at Liverpool’s. Or, as sohois says, Rodgers’.well our board is shit in the market selling and buying, as well as renewing contracts. City and Liverpool's aren't.
One game and already everyone is doom mongering. We knew before a game against Brighton that McTominay and Fred weren’t a good enough pairing, that our lack of depth up front would be and issue and that our full backs and keeper aren’t progressive enough. Give Tom Hanks time, get him a signing or two more, and work on building culture. I’d take another sixth place if it meant we build towards his ideology.
the blind optimism is crazy. i respect it.
By n8 dogg Go To PostIt’s been one fucking game, lol. You're probably right, I'm just too used to a manager melting down prior to the season and being a sign of things to come
Some of you - predominately the non-United fans - need to calm your tits, lads.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI don't know. I think a manager who can get the best of the current crop and tailor his play to them is a better answer for United, due to the fact that the club doesn't seem to be backing Ten Hag at all. Your squad is worse than last season's. "FDJ or no one" can't be a real mentality.
How are they not backing Ten Hag? They’ve exclusively signed (and are trying to sign) players he has asked for.
My bigger worry is that our opening stretch of games are tough.
Brentford away next
Then home to Liverpool
United's next home games: Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds, Newcastle, Spurs, West Haram
I'm only confident vs Leeds, but let's see how we improve.

It’s not blind optimism. It’s realism. It has been one game. One.
By Laboured Go To PostPersonally think the problem was that we did none of the things that looked good pre-season:This is why you're not in charge, Horse. You know nothing.
No organised intense press, no positional structures allowing ball control, none of the set attacking structures. We just free-balled it and wondered why we were getting trounced. I do however think part of that was making Eriksen a false 9. It was too positionally diorganised and we got eaten alive in the transition.
Throw a few poor decisions under pressure and yeah that's a pretty good recipe for losing a football match against Brighton.
It would help next time if the players did what they were coached to do rather than reverting to their own inept ideas of how football should be played, and I don't think that's asking too much.
Eight minutes into a Man City game with the next Peleradonaldessi Haaland and everyone’s only talking about United. Hated, adored, never ignored.

There is making use of what you have and then there is McTOM. The lad is the most technically deficient player in the league.
Not even Klopp could make that guy work. its painfully obvious if you saw all United bros reactions to the teamsheet.
If we don't sign midfielders before the close of the window - then its time to panic.
E10H is the solution, not the problem. Its wild you would even make that assumption.

city without an extra midfielder look a bit plain, don't they?
unless haaland starts racking up the goals, i don't see them dominating like they used to.

Preach, give ETH time, he has a clear vision of the football he wants to implement, he knows exactly the players he wants, he will get there eventually. He needs more time with his current squad to make them buy into his philosophy. Loads of promising young players who can change their playstyle. After this season he'll have a clearer idea about the dead wood in his squad.
Rome (or Ajax) wasn't built in one day after all.

City the most pathetic big team.
Does anyone even care unless they are playing Arsenal, United, Spurs, or Liverpool?

second half very outdated, they all left.

part of the problem is that as soon as things aren't going their way, they panic and start reverting back to type.
If a new MF comes in, I would drop Bruno tbh - he's still playing like he's on the clock.
Overall, they're a psychologically damaged bunch of players and E10H has his work cut out.
By Batong Go To PostI for one like to talk about Moyes
would take him back even now for the banter
Bernardo injured or snubbed because of the Barca links? Surprised that Foden and Grealish are starting. Guess Pep is really trying to turn Grealish/Haaland into a thing. Their own Son/Kane dynamic duo.

I agree brother. And you have to remember Pep and Klopp had much, much better squads to begin with. But it still required their individual stamps in ways of signings and time to identify who was and wasn’t good enough.
Need to start Eriksen deep alongside Fred vs Brentford.
100%. Need someone progressive and proactive.
By Laboured Go To PostWould absolutely take Sanchez over DDG in a heartbeat.

By Laboured Go To PostPersonally think the problem was that we did none of the things that looked good pre-season:This is the big thing for Ten Hag. Our players are coming in completely cold with so many bad habits bedded in. We've had no up to date coaching in years.

A lot of pieces written about Ten Hags style of football pointed out how it would take the majority of the season for him to instill his philosophy and tactics into the players. For our lot it'll be harder again as they need to learn or relearn the things most modern footballers take for granted.
Haaland begging for a through ball then but Gundo ignores him or doesn’t see him.
Gonna take some time for this to click but when it does phew
