By Laboured Go To PostThere's massively over-playing your hand, and then there's:
Was just watching a Tifo video and they said he scored four goals with three deflected.
Makes Antony look like a bargain.
By Laboured Go To PostNow this is the kind of pettiness I can get behind. It’s not even the fact he door stepped him and was harassing him that pissed me off, it was that he tried to play the victim.
Prick.
I will say, after the whole FDJ thing - seeing Antony push so hard for the move is kind of nice.
Its nice to be wanted.
Its nice to be wanted.
I’d wanna move too if I was signing for United from a league that’s highest paid players make about 1/5 of those in the Premier League.
Ajax - We will not accept anything lower then 80m
"MUFC offer 80m"
Ajax - "We will not be negotiating with MUFC."

By Laboured Go To Post£80m offer being refused.Glazers once again fucking us over. Should have wrapped this up a month ago.
We might go to €100m and stop after.
ten hag's interest is the only reason ajax could get that much money for antony. once united drop interest, he'll cost at least 50% less, i think.
seems silly for ajax to not do it, but i suppose they don't have to because they're loaded, and they want to do well in the (champions) league.

By Laboured Go To PostI'd not have much of a problem with bringing Depay back on the cheap particulary if CR7 goes. Not really a ridiculous notion and especially when we've been linked to the likes of Arnautovic. There are a couple of hairs in the soup with a Depay transfer tho.
Wages he'll demand. Length of contract. Commitment to the rebuild and earning a place. He's grown in football terms but I question if the desire to go again is in him. An Antony transfer at least make sense from a desire by the player to do well and become a NT regular. Depay's place is guaranteed.
There will be better and cheaper alternatives next year 🤷🏿♂️
Ajax won’t be getting an offer for that much next year either

Probably wont. But maybe they value doing well in CL and being sure of winning the league more than whatever difference that will be.
But you can have Hakim for half that price.
It’s funny to see how foreigners don’t even consider the fact that we might want to do well on the pitch too this season. We should just accept the money and stay mediocre. If only we could keep a team together for 4/5 years, we would be CL contenders.
Good to see the main focus is making sure we can get a proper replacement before we agree to any deal.

Without Antony you'll probably get knocked out of CL in the quarter finals. With Antony you'll probably get knocked out in the quarter finals...
Cup run is a crap shoot and he'll be rested most of the matches anyway.
No matter how you look at it, Ajax is ahead of the rest anyway be it with or without Antony. You'll never receive such a ludicrous offer again and taking the money would increase the gap in the Eredivisie even further. It's a huge war chest. 90m is an offensively large amount of money.

If Antony is out of the question, I'd really like it if we used that money to sort out our issues at goalkeeper and right back. We'd have a far stronger squad/starting 11 and also a solid base to add a new wide forward next season.
I mean they were a cunt hair away from a cl final a few years back. Is it likely again? Nah, but the odds are certainly better when keeping your players.
Price should be absolutely ludicrous at this time of the transfer window, for your star player, when you can easily afford to say no.

I feel like the club will accept it at some point. For the club the glory of having the highest out going transfer ever (again) is an achievement of course. Just really hope we don’t sell him and think we can make it trough the season with the Portugese lad. There will be injuries. We need quality on the pitch and on the bench.

Stuani had a good chance he should have scored probably but otherwise one-way traffic in this Girona-Celta Vigo game.

At this moment it looks like Ajax put all their eggs in the Ziyech basket which is quite short sighted? There must have been other attacking players on the market available. Could've gotten Pepe on loan!

Hope they keep him and force him to play reserve league matches if this is true.

Fofana is still very young so he might very well develop into a player worthy of that price, but that is a lot of money. Leicester spent a lot on him to start so they'll at least double their money but I'm a little surprised they're giving in with their world record being required talk.
That would be less than Maguire and Virgil in both gbp and euros.

Romano got an exclusive interview with Antony. He wants to join United.
At this point Ajax should just sell. There is no point keeping a player who refuses to play and you have an Eredivise record bid to buy him.
Oliver McBurnie scores for the first time in a league game since December 2020. Incredible. 8 goals in 91 league appearances for them.. has to be the worst return I've ever seen for a striker.
I don't know if we'll sign Antony. It may be that there isn't enough time to bid again; get turned down and then try to sign a replacement.
I'd much rather Antony than Gakpo however. Might be worth the risk trying for one more time.
