By Freewheelin Go To PostI think Mane leaving has affected Liverpool more than we thinkIt hasn't helped for sure, but our aging, injury prone midfield is the bigger concern. Need a decent striker on the pitch too.

why is he taking corner kicks? never did that at feyenoord. so odd.
had one or two moments with salah where he looked out of position, but i guess that's a given considering salah's class.
other than that he's been decent so far.
he can do so much more going forward, though, but, understandably, he's not going high up the pitch too often.
We won't last, we can't match pool's intensity and they would hitting the inhalers hard in the changing room.
I don’t think Mane being gone is the problem so much as the midfield being slow and laborious. We miss him for sure but Diaz and Jota are worthy replacements. We still have enough quality elsewhere that having one player gone shouldn’t be such the power sink that it is.
By Xpike Go To PostI think Diaz is good but he's no Mane, Mane scores 1-2 of the chances he gotI don't think the drop off between Mane and Diaz is very significant, Mane wasted his fair share of chances and had some rough patches during his time here.
Liverpool definitely look like they've lost their soul

Something else during that 1st half that I noticed was the lack of the Liverpool pressing, where was the energy? That Liverpool trademark press?

One of the only left footers in the squad I guess

Eriksen was like the top chance creator his last couple seasons at Spurs. Obvs we got him because we need someone other than Bruno who knows how to occasionally assist the ball.
Konaté and Matip both injured is a massive blow, it exposes TAA defensively and prevents him from attacking properly.
Liverpool midfield is nothing without peak Fabinho and Thiago. The back ups are terrible and injured 90% of the season.
Not having Jota available now that Mané is gone is just the final nail in the coffin because as bad as he plays, he could pull a goal out of his arse.
While Firmino is beyond finished in the PL and Darwin is yeah....
Worst part is selling Minamino and Origi so the "depth" is completely gone.

Everything stems from the midfield really. the defence is constantly getting caught up the pitch or 1on1 because they give the ball away. The strikers are dropping super deep to even get the ball - Firmino was frequently behind even Henderson. Whenever Liverpool were on top towards the end of that half United always had 8+ men back because Liverpool couldn't move the ball fast enough
By Xpike Go To PostMan U goal just reminds me of Fifa when all defenders AI just breaksBruno reminds of when you are controlling a single player and you press the shoot button when you don't have the ball
Fabinho, Thiago, Darwin and Konate/Matip would have made a massive massive difference here...but they're not here so United have done well with what they're up against

Klopp only has 3 realistic subs he can make in this game and neither of them can swing the game wildly in Liverpool favour : Fabinho for Milner (guessing he's half injured though), Tsimikas instead of Robertson and Carvalho instead of Firmino.
