Would be nice to have some dynamism in midfield now Henderson's legs are going, but we won't be spending that much on a position we don't absolutely need

Bruv, trust, this is the year of the Ox. Plus
Tbh I don't think we can afford to sell Maguire. There's a distinct lack of ball players in the side still and Maguire is very good at ball progression.

I think we can. His lack of pace playing in the very high line we do is 10x more of an issue now than Martinez's height will ever be. There was a time when I thought he was just adjusting to a high pressing system but I'm becoming less and less sure he'll ever adapt to it.
Sell him and sign *spins wheel* Max Kilman?!

Specifically one who is good with the ball at feet. Maguire is someone who looks mentally shot and while I think he can recover, he may need a change of scenery for that. But as it stands, Lindelof would be his direct replacement and he's bloody awful.

I mean Varane is his direct replacement (if he stays fit lol). And I think Varane is actually good tbqh (when he stays fit lol).

I meant that the next senior defender off the rank is Lindelof. Essentially we're a Varane injury away from Viktor starting a lot of games.
Which is very much not good.
I would love for the Caicedo rumors to be true, but we’re likely going to be paying out the nose for Bellingham next year, so doubt we have the funds squared away for both transfers.

While I think Bellingham is already good and may well end up being very good, I still don't see him as a LFC signing at that sort of price. LFC tend to get his kind of defensive output out of seemingly less talented players signed for way less money. And LFC CMs aren't really needed for their attacking output in this system.
the circumstances for casemiro in the premier jesus are the exact opposite of what they were in la liga.
curious to see how he’ll do.

I need to see more of Bellingham, never really seen any magic from him in his England games and the odd Dortmund European match. Seems decent at everything which is great at his age, but still.
Bellingham plays in Germany what is the last player from there that came good that wasn’t a defender

That’s a good point, but the press are treating it as a foregone conclusion that we sign him next year. It may end up not happening, but we’ve been pretty solid at signing our targets when we decide on them. Given his age and his passport, they might be thinking about a long term contribution to the home grown quota
Yeah he’ll be more than good enough to be a starter for Liverpool for a decade or so, so the money is whatever
By inky Go To PostHalalandStill a chance he flops innit

It's mostly all round ability and a lot of potential, but his work rate and gegen stats are already very nawty.
Almost a shame to break up the trio, Modric has always been my favourite midfielder, and Kroos almost signed for United back in the day.
Casemiro was the last one I expected to see in red!

Modric, Casemiro and Kroos is the holy trinity in terms of midfield ability. The best in each category, with the magician, the Disruptor and the metronome
Bellingham was really good in the Championship at only 16. I don't have any doubt he'll be amazing if/when he moves to the PL. Now whether or not he'll be a 100m+ player I guess is another story, but I don't think there's a chance he flops.
By Righteous Furry Go To PostBring me Josh SergeantJust saw the two goals he scored today -- second one was very well taken. Good to see him scoring in consecutive games, hopefully he can have a great season.

It won't be the same, it can't ever be anyways, you can't replace KCM 1:1, it'll be different, but it'll be good.
For me KCM was the single greatest midfield ever, what a joy it was to watch them. Big game players, showed up when needed.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostTen Hag sounds way out of his depth judging by that piece tbh. How do you not know the lower sides in the PL are still really good football teams?think the real problem is he didn't expect Manchester United to be as bad as those lower sides lol
