By Meier Go To PostI don't exactly know what caused the fall out with Dest and Xavi, but he's a pretty solid player ultimately and can play both fullback positions. Maybe he isn't working well in his system, I'm not sure, but he has familiarity with Ten Hag obviously and I think he'd be a good signing especially at under 20m which I think has been mentioned. He's a major upgrade over Dalot and quite a few other fullbacks Utd have.
The few times I've seen Dest he seemed very limited at best and genuinely poor at worst, I can't imagine why he'd be on their lis.....
oh
Just seen for all the money and names Forest have brought in, they’ve kinda needed to.
23 players that made a collective 392 appearances last season for the club aren’t there this season.
Nine players with an average of 36 appearances each - Samba, Lowe, Spence, Figueiredo, Grabban, Davis, Garner, Lolley and Zinckernagel - have all left. Five of them made over 40. They’ve almost lost an entire first team lol.
Seemed they really needed the bodies in.

By Crusher Go To PostConsistently stunned by how some people get paid to write football fan fiction. There’s a reason Miguel Delaney is bottom tier troll status on the United sub Reddit

Very amusing seeing all these motivational speeches and then they keep losing
By Frustrated_me Go To PostSancho makes €350k / week? But why?If you spend €85m on a guy, you've got to pay him a wage commensurate with that expense. Hard to justify to an agent that the guy is worthy of being the 17th (or 19th) most expensive transfer ever and not paid like one of the best in the world.

But sheesh, that's a lot of cash for a player that hasn't lived up to play just yet.
I worry that Antony would have the same problem as Sancho. Technically excellent players that struggle in the PL due to a lack of top end athleticism.
You can get around that by having a good structure in place where players know exactly how to attack. But United lacks that. We rely a lot on our wide players winning their 1 on 1 duels. Sancho can't do that unless he has a lot of space.

Response to Martinez though...
"The data shows he is dominating"
RED FLAG RED FLAG
brother if you can’t believe in data what can you believe in
Toney said something quite interesting about Martinez actually:
“To be fair to him he was doing well and was very aggressive for a centre-back. Obviously, if he gets beaten in the air he does well on the floor," said Toney.
"It was a 50-50 and sometimes I got the better of him and sometimes he got the better of me. It is a compliment for me, him getting subbed off at half-time - but whether it was for me or for a different thing they wanted to do we won't worry."
Need to think about how they’re going to protect him in the air.

I posted two videos of literally every arial challenge against him and he did well in every single instance even though Brentford persisted with it. I actually think ETH was probably wrong to sub him off in fact.
I expected ETH's english to be top notch, and it's not.
Turkey meat is fucking amazing, someone please ban Fortune. I wish I couldve more than once a year, it's too fucking expensive.
Congrats on Casemiro United m8s. About Anthony, I really don't think he's anywhere near 80m elizas worth, but hey, United are gargantuan, that won't make them bankrupt.

They targeted him by launching long balls in his direction, Brentford scored 4 in the first half with him. 0 in the second without him.
This is a data #fact.
Nuno Gomes just told an hilarious story today on a radio show. Right after the Euro 2004 final, he went on vacation to Greece.
When he was at the hotel, someone tapped on his shoulder and when Nuno Gomes turned around, he saw that it was Takis Fyssas who was his teammate at Benfica and was part of the Greece squad that won the Euro.
Fyssas asked Gomes what he was doing there, he answered that he had already made reservations for the hotel before the Euro and Fyssas said that they were also staying there.
Gomes was puzzled by the "they" part until Fyssas pointed to a group of 15 other Greece players laughing and waving goodbye to Nuno Gomes.
It turned out that the owner of a chain of hotels had gifted the whole Greece squad and their families a free week vacation on any of his hotels and most of the team ended going to the same hotel where Nuno Gomes was staying.
There were two beaches outside the hotel so every morning Nuno Gomes would look from his window to see in which beach the group was and he then went to other beach.
But every day a waiter would go to Nuno Gomes with a drink and he would say that it was an offer from Mr. Charisteas (the goal scorer of Greece's game winning goal in the final).

In terms of wide forwards, I'd love for us to get Pedro Neto. He's an excellent dribbler not only at beating a fullback, but also at progressing it from deeper areas.
Wolves would probably demand €100m tho.

I kicked him from superbru. The ultimate indignation.

He's great but very much a counter-attacking winger imo. Part of me wonders if he feels the same about Rashford and it will be him that gets ousted if we get Antony.

I don't know how comfortable Neto is in a more possession based side. Ten Hag will obv set us up to counter when the opportunity arises. But if we're dominating possession it makes more sense to get a player comfortable with constant on and off ball rotations.
