That aged well.
By Cleff Go To PostThe Aston Villa team should pose our best challenge so far as they are playing what is essentially their first team and have had a decent pre-season so far.

If he was a 40 year old English Mum his "About Me" section on Facebook would read "Chunky but funky 😋"
That's all I'm saying
Preseason but imo united are playing much better
Winning the Europa league and Carling cup, decent run in the fa cup and 4th in epl.

Excuse me?
If transfers stay the way they are, I don't see them being above Chelsea or Spurs.
If Champions League is going to be a draw for players, it's a bit of a vicious cycle.

He's a baller. I get the feeling, the last few years of mistreatment have beaten the fight out of him.
Maguire and Martinez will most likely be our preferred CB pairing this season. Lindelof doesn't pressure opposition forwards enough and Varane is very clumsy on the ball.
If Martinez settles quickly I can't see him not starting regularly. He has the aggression and the technique which Lindelof and Varane lacks.

Insane money, considering how little he's played and how poor Saints' squad is.
Think be a good deal for around 16m myself
By Laboured Go To PostTeaching DDG how to catch crosses would be better.I mean squad depth is needed, especially now with 5 subs.
Erisken and Martinez wont be enough
one more midfielder, a RB and a striker

He's only been taught how to catch contract extensions
By Punished Go To PostGood point Punished, it's like they are preparing for the Championship.

We are going to start so poorly. Really did not expect us to be going into the first game of the season with no senior right back, senior goalkeeper or cover at left back and absolutely NOTHING if Stewart gets a knock in training this week. Gonna be a rough few weeks.
16m for Delap doesn't seem out of sync with other deals. It was only a few years ago that Liverpool got 24m for Brewster after a half season in the Championship

I think the opposite actually. The sort of money we can spend on players with top league experience are poor quality. We’ve tried this before and it hasn’t worked. It doesn’t for most clubs and you end up relegated somewhere in the 5 year cycle regardless, with no asset as the end of it. The club are banking on spending that money on younger players with significantly higher ceilings with a hope for them to develop quickly, push up the table and they’ll have a high sell on potential.
It might not work but I’ll take it over signing Ben Mee
