FF, translate that to Mexican.
Vitória de Guimarães won 3-0 against Puskas Akademia in the first leg of the Conference League qualifiers, decent result.
I was checking the Aris FC score because we loaned Rafael Camacho to them and their squad looks like an old FM save.
Gervinho, Mitroglou, Andre Gray and Juan Iturbe.

Good news: Topher starts the season on the bench.
Bad news: This gives him more time to pursue his proclivites.

By FootbalIFan Go To Post@meier Wilson-Esbrand seems quite good. Was at the game last night so wasn't looking at the thread. He was very impressive -- plays very fast which is encouraging. Bummer that Haaland didn't play but Julian Alvarez looked fantastic.. just a perfect fit for City. He will be a great replacement for Jesus. Pressed like hell and linked up well, dropped deep.. definitely can see him slotting in on the wing as necessary as well. Very exciting.
Will probably be starting left back for Brighton in a few seasons
Ref was a joke in the game. Grealish not being given at a minimum the 2nd penalty shout was genuinely insane. In a normal game America gets at least 2 red cards for that.. just absurd behavior for a friendly. CONCACAF refs are always truly awful so not unexpected that this guy had no clue what he was doing.
I see that Liverpool have 2 more friendlies for a total of 5 before the CS.. City are playing 2. This is not ideal to say the least, so hopefully we get like a behind closed doors game or two vs Oldham or some local clubs..
By LFMartins86 Go To PostNo wants him and he is benched for Martial, Ronaldo is probably just going to retire now.
Nah he is insistent he can carry on for another 4 years.
Funny that his personal family issues that no one has elucidated upon have entirely conincided with his agent trying to sell him across the continent tho.
Don't have much hope for Martial anymore. He's a victim of terrible coaching on an individual and tactical systems level. But he also isn't arsed to actually play most of the time.
Maybe ETH can work a miracle and find a system which suits the player and the team as a whole. Wouldn't count on it though.

By Laboured Go To PostSometimes I doubt your commitment toSparkle MotionMartial FC.
By Lego Go To PostI believe in Tony. 25 goal season.I thought Martial would have kicked on following his good 2020 season. He was performing well as the lone 9; held the ball up well; linked well with Fernandez and the wide forwards; took his chances when they came. But the next two seasons were just shit. He just didn't look bothered to apply himself. Didn't help that the system disintegrated around him upon the signing of Ronaldo etc, but he still wasn't playing well anyway.
Maybe the absence of Ronaldo and the faith put in him by ETH will spark something in him.
Ronaldo is still better than Martial but that's like saying my poo smells better than freewheelins poo.
United need to better incorporate Sancho, Rashford needs to find his form, and united need a CM signing. That'll do a lot to improve on last season.
In depth review.

Tbf (and this does not completely exonerate him at all) towards the back end of all that good form Cavani was bought, and then after that CR7, as if to say thanks very much for all that but also get fucked. So while I would have liked to see him fight them off, I can see why he went into his shell.

By Laboured Go To Post"We don't think much of you" three times overLet's not forget the fact that he was on a really good streak and scoring goals in Mourinho's second second season only to be moved to the right and benched the moment Sanchez was brought in.

Don’t get the Antony pursuit. Got Sancho, Amad, Pellistri, Shoretire, Elanga, Rashford, Garnacho and Chong all still at the club who can play in those two wide positions, not to mention Martial, Ronaldo, Fernandes, Eriksen.
Obviously some of them will go on loan, but it’s still a lot of numbers. Would be inclined to roll with Martial/Ronaldo, Rashford/Elanga, Bruno/Eriksen and Sancho/Amad, with Chong and one or two of the other three sent out on loan. Rome wasn’t built in a day; take stock, sign the CM we’re begging for, give some of our youth some game time and accept it can’t all be done in one season.

Any other liverboys here think this might be the real breakout year for Harvey Elliot? Last year was stifled by injury, I think this year we’ll see him discussed in the same terms as Mount, Saka, and Foden.

Half of the names you are throwing out there are nothing more than cannon fodder. Amad and Pellistri are not going to make it in this club. Amad is the biggest WTF? for me. We spent around 42m on him. I don’t see how you are going to recoup the money spent on him. Pellistri is going on loan again. To Portugal or Italy apparently. Chong is no bueno. Shore tire is going out on loan and has no physicality at all. Garnacho hasn’t gotten a kick of the ball all preseason so far. I doubt that’s just because EtH hates him.

If the manager feels he needs Anthony, I doubt it’s because he hasn’t seen what is on ground. Like he said, we need players but we need the right ones.
