They’re fine. I like Athletic Interest better for sports and football informative content
By n8 dogg Go To Postand this is the problem innit. Six into four does not go. Does that mean two managers have failed every single year?I would say yes for all apart from Erik Ten Months for next season

Yes
There should be context around that failure I agree. like I didn't expect arteta to be in top four first season. But £300 million and two seasons and half seasons in, then yes it is a failure to not get top four.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostPotter has been in charge of Brighton for 3 years. Should Brighton fans expect top four?Potter's target when he joined Brighton wasn't to get top 4 within 3 years
Part of the context is the way that Arsenal missed out last season, which was frankly pathetic. Three losses in a row against teams they're much better than, and then when it was do-or-die they went to Newcastle and put in (in context) one of the most listless displays I've ever seen, and that's not even exaggerating
I'm all for sacking managers after 10 months.
Name one manager who took longer than 10 months to achieve his ambition in a new job.

Didn't watch the game but it sounds like Everton are going to try and be the new Stoke/Burnley of the league and just kick lumps out of people because they can't play football.
By Meier Go To PostNice goal by Mount. I’m surprised he’s kept the super short hair. Looked a lot better before.Him & Havertz both looked better with longer hair

Luke O'Nien rattling a manager like Mourinho is not something I could have seen coming even 4 months ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo may be the most notable absentee from Manchester United’s preseason tour but there is another player, missing until now, whom fans will be desperate to see.
James Garner is finally due to return to training on Monday after an injury the England Under-21 midfielder picked up on the first day of the tour prevented him from playing in either of the wins against Liverpool and Melbourne Victory.
It has been a particular disappointment for Erik ten Hag, who has been keen to assess Garner’s credentials at close quarters before deciding whether he should stay with the squad for next season or again be loaned out.
A loan, and a return to Nottingham Forest where he played an instrumental role in helping the club win promotion to the Premier League, seems the most likely scenario but Garner is hoping to make the most of the last week in Australia.
United are reluctant to bring Garner back if it means him just warming the bench and want to ensure that, whatever materialises next season, he is in a position where he is getting regular game time.
Tuesday’s game with Crystal Palace at the MCG may come too soon for the 21-year-old but, barring any fitness complications, he should feature against Aston Villa in Perth on Saturday.
“Unfortunately I picked up a little injury on the first day which has set me back until now,” Garner explained. “I’ve been in the gym and I’m back training from Monday so hopefully I’ll get a chance to play.
“Australia has good memories for me. Last time I was here [on the 2019 preseason tour] I ended up scoring so if I get my chance when we go to Perth and I’m playing hopefully I can get another goal.”
Ten Hag has identified Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong as his leading transfer target and the player he wants to fill the troublesome No. 6 role. United’s pursuit is proving anything but straightforward and De Jong has now joined Barcelona on their preseason tour to the US but, while they are prepared to sit tight and play the long game, Garner insists it is a position he is comfortable playing if required.
“Me personally, I’m not too fussed if I play as a 6 or 8,” he said. “Throughout the academy I played as a deeper lying 6. People maybe questioned whether I could score and create but when I got to the 21s I showed I could also play box-to-box.
“This season I’ve played as a 6, 8 and in the No 10 position. For me I enjoy 6 or 8 as long as playing. In the academy I was always a centre back at 6 or 7 but so got moved into midfield and it went from there.”
Garner admits that last season with Forest, under manager Steve Cooper, will be hard to beat. “Last season was a top season for me, I think it will be tough to top a season like that unless I win the Premier League,” he said. “The manager really took to me, we won a lot of games. We didn’t have the best start in the first seven games but then the manager came in and we were on a flyer.”

I was under the impression that Garner could not be loaned back to Forest as PL rules state you can only have one loanee from another club. Henderson is now at Forest for the season.
