Honestly… what are they doing? I don’t get it. Isn’t this a club predicated on the notion that their academy is best in the world? Next year, their squad will have 35yo Pique, 33yo Busquets, 33yo Alba, 33yo Aubameyang, and 33yo Lewandowski all in their first team, all on massive wages (so much so they have to keep asking stalwarts to take wage cuts).
I can’t remember seeing a big club so mismanaged.

The transfer ban wasn't enough
Losing the GOAT wasn't enough
Edging towards bankruptcy wasn't enough
Can't stop. Won't stop.
Kounde, Mbappe and Bernardo Silva next 🔥

Just looking at their squad… Depay, Pjanic, Umtiti, Braithewaite all still around :lol. Incredible stuff.
Happy with this, now lets go get Tielemans ...
By Freewheelin Go To Post….80m? For a player who has scored…*checks notes*… 6 PL goals in his first season last season?Lukaku scored 8 goals in the PL and cost 100m so Chelsea fans think that's the going rate for strikers these days.
💀
Record is claiming that Ajax has triggered Francisco Conceição's 5M€ release clause and it should be made official soon.
By n8 dogg Go To PostNobody can compete with EPL
By FootbalIFan Go To PostNobody can compete with EPLI never understood that sentiment. Barca, Real, PSG, Bayern, Juve more than earn enough to compete with the EPL. It’s not like we’re talking about Betis or Cadiz.
You’ve got superclubs who (by and large) have been run terribly with their unfathomably large pockets, using the Prem as a boogyman to say that they need more more more. In the last 15 years, Barca have been *at worst* the 4th highest earning club, and more often than not 2nd highest.
I think mid-table clubs in other leagues have much more reason to be worried about the PL, because teams like Palace, Everton, and West Ham are able to outbid them with such ease that the player dynamics are beginning to change in the non-top clubs.
Barca though? There aren’t any excuses.
No doubt. I meant none of the leagues can compete with the epl. Madrid can win the CL, sure, but no neutral football fan in the near future will care more for Valencia than they do for Nottingham Forest
Epl having higher spend than the other 4 top leagues combined in this window is telling in itself.

What the hell does compete even mean?
Didn’t Spain just dominate European football competitions for the last 20 years?
And apart from Mbappe, the last time one of the Spanish top two didn’t get their man was probably Vieira back in the early 00s.
Juve were competing well and then decided to spunk silly money on Ronaldo and Ramsey that would make even City blush on wages.

Got to love football fans. Suddenly Francisco Conceição went from being one of the most promising Portuguese players for Porto fans to an average player today.
Pretty much every reliable journalist in Portugal has confirmed the deal even O Jogo that is almost Porto's official newspaper.
No matter how you see it, this is a crappy deal for Porto.
Having a 19 year old winger who already played close to 50 games for the main team leave for 5M€ is poor, even more when he is the son of the manager and left because he refused to renew.
Porto are two weeks away of the start of their season, have lost 1 starting CB, 1 starting midfielder, another midfielder who was oscillating between starting and coming off the bench and a winger who came off the bench most games and they've only bought a replacement for the center back.

one of the most mediocre players to ever make it.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostDavid Silva has that titlewUt
I don’t like Kroos and Silva, but the two are anything but mediocre.
They might not be flashy players, but they were just sensational at what they were good at.

Yeah sure Jorge Mendes is trying to convince Bayern, football really gets the bottom of the barrel press.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with the transfer market being dead atm as far as big names go.
De Jong enters pre season with Barcelona btw, this boy is a waste of time.

Sounds like there's still no further progress on his wages issue. Ideally United have somebody else lined up and start to make progress on that. Maybe to even force Barca's hand.
By Lego Go To PostI think United already knew this - and when Ronnie and his agent wanted to kick up a fuss, Dick Arnie sent them both to die on the public stage.
Both Ronaldo and his agent don’t know the meaning of the word no, apparently.
gratifying to watch ngl.

Can Zinchenko fly to America and join our tour?
Will we sign another CM and winger after?
Find out next time on Edu's BBQ Grill

Fucking hell Arsenal are on a spending spree for a long time now
The process must succeed otherwise
I don't want to even think about it
Top 4 HAS to be obligation this season
I'm satisfied with our business this window if we get Zinchenko on

I have a feeling Menino Jesus will want the World Cup call up so badly he'll turn himself into the perfect striker we need
By Vini.lad Go To PostI have a feeling Menino Jesus will want the World Cup call up so badly he'll turn himself into the perfect striker we needActually with the fukkery of the winter WC teams that have relatively few players going might benefit a lot in the second half of the league. Maybe hope he misses out
This feels like the first time I've seen arsenal so directly address the positions where we're lacking, nice to see. If we can add something in CM on top of Zinchenko I'd consider this a very very good summer for us. Only qualm I'd have is that we're not picking up top tier talent while doing so, but you can't expect that after the recent seasons so.
I'd say Zinchenko and Jesus are top tier talent, just overshadowed due to being in a team where everyone is a top talent

Yeah Arteta has to go if he doesn't get CL football for next season (either through top four or winning the EL), no excuses really given how long he's been at the club and how much they've backed him.
We are already talking about Arteta being out.
The idea that Arteta has to get top four to be be viewed as a success is ridiculous.
Let’s just enjoy the season. No idea what is gonna happen.

I think Plasma is right but displacing City/Liverpool/Chelsea/Spurs could be an incredibly tough task.
