Happy with the arrival of Eriksen. Improves our ability to actually keep hold of the ball as well as creating chances.
By Laboured Go To PostI just don't understand anything about money anymore. Barca are playing 7D chess, clearly.Barca's DoF suggests that they may actually need to sell De Jong. Disaster class of an institution.
By Laboured Go To PostLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLI don't believe this at all.
Apparently trying to sign Lingard as well.
Iβm liking what I see so far from Carvalho. Looks well composed and has slotted into our play style nicely.
By Xpike Go To PostWhy is City offloading so many good players
Oh well, welcome Oleksander
Jesus makes sense because he hasnβt had the playing time he should be getting. Zinchenko is a versatile player but will be spending his peak years as a back up to Cancelo. Bernardo has one more good contract left at his age and probably canβt say no to the chance at wearing the BarΓ§a shirt. Individually they make sense, but it is a bit crazy to see it all happen at once.
By Xpike Go To PostWhy is City offloading so many good playersCity accepted a bid from Wolves for him two? years ago if I recall but he turned down the move.. I guess at this point he's decided it's worth a shot going somewhere else especially for a big club like Arsenal. I think he's a very good player but just won't ever be quite good enough to be City's starting LB so it makes sense for both sides for him to leave at this point. I think we'll miss his personality and presence -- a genuinely great dude.
Oh well, welcome Oleksander
I can see Bernardo leaving (sadly), but I don't believe City will accept a lowball offer. He's twice the player FDJ is and still has 3 years left on his contract. City will generally sell a player if they want to go, but I can't imagine City sell him for less than Barca are asking for for De Jong. 100m+
I doubt we sell Bernardo. But if we do we will go into the market again for sure.
City fans have just got to have faith in Pep and Txiki.
Weβve been here before with selling top players and have we truly gone on to miss them?

By Dan Go To PostWeβve been here before with selling top players and have we truly gone on to miss them?I read a Sam Lee article last night about Sterling and he had this line which was pretty accurate:
"City may not even miss Sterling, purely because of the talent they have in the squad and the potential impact of Haaland. That is no slight on him: City have not missed David Silva, Vincent Kompany or Aguero, and thatβs a remarkable feat considering they all have statues around the place."
Silva, Kompany and Aguero all got old and basically retired with City. I'm struggling to think of a single top player that City have actually sold. Tevez?
I doubt Bernardo is going anywhere, not least because Barcelona have to hit their overdraft limit eventually, but if he does, then I feel like City will really need to invest in wide areas, as that seems to be where a huge chunk of their sales have happened over the last couple of years.
Either that or City are going to be VERY central this season.

Regarding the Zinchenko move, seems we had everything in place and were waiting for how Martinez/Raphina turned out before triggering it, I assume if we require Tielimans he would be similar
By Laboured Go To PostSane.I think you could argue Dzeko as well to some extent -- at least in terms of output. Looks like he has scored 136 goals since we let him go. Ferran Torres is another big ticket sale that definitely was not missed. It is true that generally though other than Sane and Tevez, most of the big names have just gotten old and left or retired (Yaya as well). However people have left though, mostly it seems we've felt their loss off the pitch more than on.
Turns out giving 100k p/w 4 year contracts to championship level players who can't stay fit for 1 week a year is not worth it.

Didn't realize he basically didn't play at all for them after moving in the winter window. Kind of surprising, it seems he was still a regular for Valencia before the move. Wooden, your thoughts?
By Laboured Go To PostSane. Are you alrite there brother
Maybe Bernardo has asked to leave. Didn't something come out last season about him wanting to leave for Barca?
City will still have the same issue a lot of the English teams have when Barca/Madrid come calling for your players, they usually want out.

I hate the ugly cunt and I hope Simeone forces him to stay to torture him, seeing as BrΓΈndby probably cant pay more than 1.5m euros. Would do well in the Danish league if he isnt injured all the time.
By Dan Go To PostMahrez has signed a two year extension.Well deserved. Now for Gundo..
By Killer7 Go To PostMaybe Bernardo has asked to leave. Didn't something come out last season about him wanting to leave for Barca?Bernardo wasn't very happy living in Manchester/away from his family during the strict lockdown periods but has been open about being much more happy in recent times. The closest journalist to Pep said last week that that Bernardo has not expressed any interest in leaving this summer though so I think it's mostly just wishful thinking by the general Spanish press and maybe Mendes trying to drum up some sweet, sweet commission.

Think City would be mad to sell him this window. Will be a lot of disruptions with the WC in the middle of it too. If he does leave surely there'll be someone else coming in.

brother i didnt even have room for club legends like garner and pellistri. sometimes you have to have priorities.

Coolβ¦I think?
Can't trust anyone named Darren.
Probably not ideal for Garner that Savage and Iqbal have been getting what I had presumed would be his game time.
Eales seems like a good get. Atlanta are having a bit of a rough patch but they've been one of the better teams in MLS right from the start so he did some good there.

Always a good idea to look at the reaction from the fans of the team he just left in these situations. The Atalanta boys seem genuinely gutted, which is probably a good sign for us. Seems like he's been very good at developing a relationship with the fans which is very important in Newcastle.
But pls, a right winger and a striker now.

I'd have thought they would play today. They should be in line for the next match along with Garner if he gets over whatever knock he has.
