according to journos uniteds entire strategy is either
1. bring ajax to manchester
2. hijack chelsea/arsenal targets

By Laboured Go To PostBruno seems to be taking the 8 shirt. Meanwhile Malacia is taking 12. Very exciting times imho.

It is pretty amazing, but try telling that to the shirt number police (Jesal).
By Laboured Go To PostLeipzig asking for €15m for Brobbey.
25 million
By WoodenLung Go To Postam I the only one that thinks this is crazy?
By Laboured Go To PostNo Linny you can't start hiking the price on him as well.
Nah Bild is reporting strange things. Ajax is willing to pay 15 million for him. Leipzig demand 25. So still a big gap in the negotiations.
By Frustrated_me Go To Postam I the only one that thinks this is crazy? There are gonna be so many people arrested for very innocuous things this World Cup.
By inky Go To PostLooks like Ten Hag should've just stayed at AjaxAt a minimum, he needs to set his sights a little higher. I understand feeling comfortable with some former players and the like, but he's definitely not gonna challenge for anything by exclusively signing players from a league that is a number of tiers below the Premier League.
EtH needs allies he knows wont down tools the moment things start to get rough.
He needs reps within a dressing room thats proven to be toxic.

Really don't think its that hard to find players who don't throw their toys out of the pram whenever things go wrong, without just going for players you've already worked with.
Its a starting point in a league you've never managed in before for a club thats not really super attractive right now.
His connections is United's only bargaining power for players like FDJ who would be well within their rights to go elsewhere.
They know his style, his tactics and will implement his methods and help others do it faster and more effectively - it aint deep.
United are starting from scratch. If that means phase 1 is an Ajax MK2, I'm down for it.

Is he any good? The last LB we signed from Benfica wasn't exactly great.

Apparently the LA Galaxy are one of the MLS teams interested in signing Lingard. Could see him enjoying it out there.

By Meier Go To PostThere are gonna be so many people arrested for very innocuous things this World Cup.Good point actually, hadn't thought of the arrests. I don't see why they can't allow guests to have drinks, and the locals to continue not drinking if that's their decision.
By Laboured Go To PostHuh, had no idea Grimaldo is Spanish. What did you think he was?

I'll take that as he's not very good
Like that we've destroyed our reputation to the point that it is worth nothing compared to our manager's reputation.
By Laboured Go To PostLike that we've destroyed our reputation to the point that it is worth nothing compared to our manager's reputation. The allure of the bald lad
Like I was saying, Hag is our only pull, our ace in the hole and it makes sense that he'll go after players that are proven.
United finally coming close to the asking price. What a miracle. Can only assume Huntelaar and Hamstra slapped a big no on this considering it’s still below the asking price.

Get a load of money-grubbing Lino lads. What will sate your thirst for lucre, young man?
I’d rather have good players on the pitch than a bag of money mate. Timber/Martinez has been our most reliable centerback pairing in many years. And we’ll only experience it less than a full season. If he goes it shouldn’t be a single penny less than what we demand.
I mean I get what you're saying but if he has a bad season under you new manager next season then you're not even getting half of that.

If Timber and Martinez both stay there’s little Schreuder can do to fuck that up. And then we’ll sell him for 30 million next year because of the shorter contract. 50 million is literally crazy for him to be fair. But I’d just rather have the player than the money considering where we are as a club at the moment. We lost both our manager and technical director. I don’t trust Huntelaar and Hamstra to do solid business for us this summer. They have literally no experience.
But yeah, this transfer will happen. United are almost there, they won’t let it slip now.
Luckily once we buy Martinez you'll have approximately 62% of the money required to sign Phil Jones.
By Killer7 Go To PostYou'll need a RW too
A backup for Antony would be nice, but not the highest priority.
By Linius Go To PostWe’re going to have to sign a new CB, RB and striker.Good thing Phil Jones can play RB, CB and mid then m8, he's almost a replacement for Martinez innit
I say almost, because he'll be dead within a month
