By Laboured Go To PostJust to note that CR7 has still not turned up to pre-season and the club do not even know if he's turning up for the tour tomorrow. He's gone.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostKovacic is great. Why do you hate him so much lolKovacic is kovashit imo
Kovacic would be a starter at Madrid if it weren't for Modric. I was praising him from the get go, one of the really good midfielders in the game today. Anyone that thinks a player like Kovacic is shit is either delusional or doesn't understand football. Or in the case of FF, plagued with biased opinion.
Kovacic can be good at driving the ball forward, good work rate and dribbling through the midfield line
but
he's got terrible output, rarely scores or assists, rarely makes good forward passes, lingers on the ball, probably has a high passing completion but they're all sideways.. not that he's actually shit but he isn't special either. Hence, kovashit

Footballers will always find ways to time waste, the only solution is stopping the clock.
The way added time is handled is so random, there's no consistency in it. Sometimes there'll be 5 mins of time wasted, an injury, 5 subs, 2 min VAR check for a disallowed goal - ref adds 4 minutes.
Then in that 4 minutes, there's another sub, more wasted time, and ref blows the whistle before it hits 4 mins.

Kovacic is absolutely average at best as far as a big team player goes. He doesn't stand out amongst his peers. Just there. And that can be fine, sometimes all you need is a complementary player.. but let's not get it twisted and act like he's anything special.
Barca and their "financial levers" is the most hilarious shell game I've heard of in a long time.

But if you watch Kovacic, you see the whole game.”

m8 does your whole Slaent experience revolve around dunking on people? What's wrong with you? Grow up.

It's not that he's actually shit, it's more that he's not special and can easily be replaced by any team he's in.

Lmao at “easily replaceable”. Fair enough if you don’t think he’s good or whatever but that’s just silly. Chelsea is easily at their best with Kovacic and Kante on the pitch at once.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostBasically what I saidIf anything his play style and skill set is pretty unique compared to your typical midfielder, making him harder to replace.

If I were to compare him to Madrid players, he's a mix of Modric and Federico, but not as good as either of them, though still a very good player on his own.
As I saw someone else mention - where the fuck is FIFPro in all this? Like this is precisely their remit and the sort of thing they wade into.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostAnd? We can't be wrong? And when we are wrong, we can't come out and say so?I apologise for not meeting the notoriously high standards set by Madrid fans regarding forum posts.

By Pedja Go To PostI apologise for not meeting the notoriously high standards set by Madrid fans regarding forum posts.Way to go deflecting. Honestly grow up dude, you don't need to feel you have to dunk on others to feel good.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostIf anything his play style and skill set is pretty unique compared to your typical midfielder, making him harder to replace.Fair enough, but for me I think Modric on his worst day is still a good amount better than Kova. If Modric had left, I don't think Kovacic would be starting for Madrid today, they'd have looked for other options.

Guess we won't ever know for sure but I just see him as a decent utility player that you can trust, but not as someone your team would fall apart for if they left or got injured.

m8 Modric is one of the best midfielders even today at 37 or however old he is. NM Kovacic.
I think you still remember when Kovacic was told to man mark in a Clasico which led to a goal, no real fault of his own but yeah not a good look.

So yesterday something incredible happened, one of our "big four" won their first title since 1940, it may sound weird but essentially everyone in the country were rooting for them, it's something historic, old men have waited their entire lives just to see this moment.

This is like Billy Beane saying fuck the approach and splashing on past his prime Barry Bonds. Why
By Laboured Go To PostAs I saw someone else mention - where the fuck is FIFPro in all this? Like this is precisely their remit and the sort of thing they wade into.I agree with you and they probably should be stepping in.. but as I read it the other day, it sounds like he signed the new contract under his own volition and probably technically isn't due it unless the deferred payment was guaranteed rather than his contract just being restructured. Unless they did a Bobby Bonilla (look up Bobby Bonilla day, fun stuff) then I imagine they're in the clear legally and don't really "owe" it to him if he leaves before fulfilling the contract.
Yeah the argument is: your contract was restructured / varied (so we don't pay) vs we deferred wage payments (so the money is owed).
However, the fact they're offering him some money suggests they feel they are not on sound footing.

Castles saying that both Martinez and Anthony and trying to convince Ajax to lower their asking prices to join United.
I’d be happy enough with that transfer window. I mean it would rely on Rashford and Martial as strikers but, you know, can’t be much worse.
Maybe Bruno false 9, or a diamond with Martinez at the base, De Jong and Eriksen on the sides, and Bruno through the middle, but apparently Ten Hag doesn’t like Martinez as a midfielder.

It’s pathetic honestly. United overpaid crazy amounts of money for a guy like Maguire. And then expect to pick up some of our most important players for a bargain. This soap will last whole summer and does hopefully amount to nothing much or paying the asking price.

Hope you go for the #fullamount
Antony has done nothing to justify his price, if we’re honest, but if Ten Hag wants him he wants him.
