By Xpike Go To Postnot my money innitSure, but I was responding to Lunatic calling it a good deal
Regardless, price aside I don’t think he’s good enough as a forward
He's way better than anything we have or could even get. You really don't remember how class of a player he is? I think the problem with recognising his talent is a result of him being on one of the most stacked teams of all time. That and he could never work in a strikerless Guardiola side.
I've watched him play a lot, he's at this best off the right, but even then I'd hesitate to call him class
It's pretty telling that city were considered strikerless the last season.
If arsenal want a right winger, then fair, but I very much don't think that's what the perception of this deal is

we need a hardworking CF who will actually run behind defenders, know how to dribble, link up with others well, is relatively young, and can score chances once in a while
jesus meets all of these requirements

Playing FIFA 22 now it’s on Game Pass, first FIFA I’ve played for more than 10 mins for 3/4 years
Defending is hard on this game lol. Pressure does nothing anymore. 4 pens given away in 3 games. Every game having an xG of 4.8 or something is funny too

This.. even if I don't think he's class hell probably score 12-15 league goals which is a massive improvement on laca

i will agree with this.
he’s better than laca.
Jesus is a very good player but he's not getting 15 league goals (he's never done) and he scored half his league goals last season in one game.
Arsenal still need a striker.

However you want to dissect we have a player who will score more than laca and therefore is an upgrade.

We're joke team status, this is a great signing. Anyone saying otherwise is concern trolling
Loool, you’re not fucking Burnley lads. You’re a club that spent the most money last year, and looks set to spend similar amounts this year. Writing off people questioning Jesus as a “great singing” just concern trolling is phenomenal levels of heads buried in sand.
I think Jesus will score double digit goals in the league and around 20 total next season. His goal scoring record in the CL is very strong — Arsenal Will want someone who has done well in European games. He’s proven in England and maybe most importantly, he’ll run the whole game. He’s a fighter and will get stuck in for 90 minutes. I think it’ll be a very good signing for them.

We are out the ucl, dont have the same pull we did 15 years ago and can't offer the best wages. Given the profiles of strikers we could have got - Jesus is by far the best (Watkins, dcl and Isaak). I don't see how it's not a great signing for us

He's not playing in a team that creates 3+xG on the regular.
We paid more money by a long shot for worse. This is most likely an improvement on that. And better players don't seem interested in coming, can't blame them. So.....

Playing against the AI?
Shit straight up cheats so I wouldn't worry about it. Online, CDMs are #key. You will just concede less goals with a good cdm, nevermind how good you actually are.
If you replace Lacazette with Jesus in certain games last season like vs. Burnley he probably scores one of the multiple chances Lacazette got, which is what we need

he's a value add at that price.
plus he's worked with Arteta before.

Yeah playing the AI is pretty fucking boring, you want to keep possession as much as possible and take no risks. On defence just constantly show them down the wing so they cross.
Playing online is alright but I haven’t touched it in 7 months so probably a bit rusty.

And there are still what we all call FIFA goals.

Some players thrive a little when they’re the main man at a smaller team than when they play for a top team like City.
We should bite their hands off for that amount. He's a technically sound player, but took so few risks that he was a waste playing at 8 or 10.
Will also partly fund our bid for De Jong 👀

First time since 2019 that the festivities of São João have happened in Angra.

Just waiting for the fireworks to go off in 20 minutes to mark the end of the festivities.
It's been 10 straight days of party, going out every night.
I don’t think Jesus is a clinical striker, which is what I think we need personally.
Who knows maybe Jesus will be Arteta’s Henry.
Most important thing is that the deal is done. Not my preferred player, but we have got it done without wasting time all summer. Great business whatever you think of the player or the cost.

We will return here in 1 year
Jesus will be a good signing, I'd be much more concerned if Cedric or Tavares continue to get minutes, than whether or not Jesus will score 20 or 13 goals.

Happy with Jesus coming in, we all want a world-class striker but we're not there. So I think Jesus is probably the best player we can get and Arteta has obv worked with him before which is a bonus.
Martinez/Tielemans next pls. I doubt Leeds would sell Raphinha to us, but we seem to be the favourites so whatever lol

That Werner number is nuts though, considering he's only been in the league for 2 seasons
