By Plasma Go To PostYeah if Nketiah signs a new contract (which it looks like he has it just hasn't been announced yet) I can't see us buying another out and out striker. Maybe at a push we'll sign another winger that can play upfront.
Only 32 million€ guaranteed but the guy still has at least four years of athletic prowess on him, which you know he will milk because of his attitude and approach to the game. He will meet that appearance fee at least.
This save is still absolutely unreal to me.
Bazunu to Saints for £12m rising to £15/16m, 20% sell-on and some sort of buy-back. £40m was rumored before.
By Punished Go To PostMediocre deal for us and sort of strange that it's been wrapped up so early and £7m short of what we wanted. You would hope so we can focus on other transfers but I can see it being done for us until January. We gave you Thiago under similar or identical circumstances for like 20M m8
Maybe he’s too focused on specifying that new transfers are or aren’t alleged rapists rather than spelling names right
The Mane transfer looks pretty fair to me. Older player, one year left, wants to leave, etc. Seems good for all involved. Liverpool fans being surprised about it is jokes though, so many were adamant he wouldn’t leave unless their valuation was met lol.

Looked good when we played Portsmouth at home tbh but £40m for a keeper who has been playing in a pub league until now is a bit fanciful.
From what I've read about Vitinha, he's a very similar player to FDJ. He's the main ball progressor in a double pivot. Good carrier and passer, but needs a solid holding midfielder beside him.
Not sure we'd go for two of the same type of player when we don't have that defensive presence to to fill in the gap.

He looks to have the talent to be one of the world's best though so I'd imagine it could be a real consideration in the future. They've promised him the #1 so he'll at least have a chance to show it.
By Laboured Go To PostIf true, the problem is probably with regards to guaranteed playing time. Needs to play to start at the World Cup.

I'm going to keep banging this drum: when a midfield is well coached and contains the right type of players, you do not necessarily need a specialist DM.

But I'm just going by the analysis on the issues FDJ has faced at Barcelona. They keep mentioning the lack of defensive presence beside him.
Pre-season starts in 5 days and we've done nothing.
No contract renewals (only really care about Roberts tbh) and not even any strong hints of incomings. Apart from the cryptobro shit which is starting to feel uncomfortable.
As the kids say: it's very upsetti.

Romario Baro was one of the wonderkids for Porto in FM that really developed. Seems he didn't play a ton for Estoril last season on loan but I'm sure he'll be back and replacing Vitinha.
Thought Azpi's contract was expiring based on all the talk leading up to the end of the season, didn't realize he had a year left.

Meeting at PSG happening now to decide if they are triggering Vitinha's release clause of 40M€.
Timber is right to turn down United.
He's never going to displace Varane & Maguire - regardless of quality. That's not to mention Phil Jones, or Bailly, too.

I ain't even mad - we did him dirty.

I think we did fine. We paid 35m for him, and got 6 years of him playing at his peak. I don’t see how we should expect a player in his last year of contract, at 30 years old, to go for 40m+.

If they can’t ship Lukaku back to Inter may as well dress like them
Those are better than the actual kit shirts

I agree and think a specialist DM is a waste of a position unless they’re truly extraordinary. Need to be able to do more to succeed in a top team in the modern game. Fabinho and Rodry for example.

He is 22 years old, has played for 3 seasons in the first division and doesn't even have 1000 minutes total.
He was terrible this past season.
By Xpike Go To PostPorto is getting robbed blindThey need the money.
By Xpike Go To PostEh not a fan of this, we have plenty of people at CB already. If we're going to sign another defender this summer it should be a RB.
edu is on a mad one, thin squad never again

Or is there another cheap player or two at the smaller Portuguese teams?

You're right though, limited resources and priority areas. The club must see something in these players.
