You had two Sporting "legends" playing for you so it was always a guaranteed win.
Still hate Bryan Ruiz for missing a tap in that would have given us the title.

Disgusting. Didn’t expect you to be a supporter of sports whitewashing. You should be ashamed you made the world cup. Honourable countries are staying home.
Congrats, ignore my bitterness.
Oof, 0-4 at home is rough. Glad there weren’t any Liverpool players in that squad to be tainted by the defeat
Morning, lads. Has Pocket Tuna gone to Newcastle yet?

Howe is clear m8
By LFMartins86 Go To PostNike really putting in the work in designing our kits.Beautiful, when Nike wants they can sure create something really nice.
When he had that really good streak, when we put I think 6 or 7 past Southampton, he looked like he was going to be a star player for us. Soon after, he was injured by Funes Mori and was stop-start ever since.
I’ll never forget that misguided dipshit pounding his Everton badge after being sent off for injuring Origi. A true sign that there are some clubs where respect for your colleagues doesn’t make it through to their fibrous, troglodytic brains.

Could have gotten double that right after Henderson's successful loan spell and Sheffield United. Were such fuck ups.
Just sell him.
Just sell him.

There's never been a time when anyone would have paid 40 mil for him
By Willkiller Go To PostThere's never been a time when anyone would have paid 40 mil for himChelsea wanted Henderson before signing Mendy. They were desperate for someone other than Kepa. The fee reported was actually £50m iirc.

And then they realised that fee was insane so went for Mendy instead?

Sure haha. I'm sure Chelsea were willing to pay 50 million for Henderson but United said no.
By Willkiller Go To PostSure haha. I'm sure Chelsea were willing to pay 50 million for Henderson but United said no.I mean, you can doubt it if you like. But that's what was reported at the time by good sources at United. I also think £50m is a price that's probably spin. But at the time there was definite interest from Chelsea, but United were never going to sell.

I can absolutely believe that Chelsea looked at Henderson, I still would take issue with you saying United could have ever gotten 40 million for him though, that to me makes 0 fucking sense Chelsea would have ever considered close to that after spending £70m on Kepa 2 seasons previously.

Henderson was young, homegrown and played well in a struggling side. Given the lack of impressive goalkeepers about and Chelsea's desperation for a new signing there it absolutely would have pushed up Henderson's price.
Like I said, £50m is fanciful, but I've no doubt we could have sold for a high price if we were willing to.
My overall point though, is that we had at one stage earmarked Henderson to replace De Gea, but for some reason ditched that idea and were left with a depreciating asset on the bench, we could have gotten a large amount of money for.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWe were never going to pay that much for Henderson lol come on now.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostBad transfer in hindsight but also 100x the profile of player and career than Henderson at the time we got him.
Chelsea likely didn't value Henderson at 40m but I think they would have realized that buying from United would have required an extra premium that could have taken the price to 40
De Jong in an interview said he is at the biggest club in the world. Then lower your salary and help them b.
Don’t want another depressed boy at United, fuck him.

Premier League rules state that you can't have more than one loanee from another club. Nottingham Forest want Garner back as well as Henderson on loan. Could potentially see us selling one and loaning the other.
Or just giving one of them time with our senior team idk.

Choupo-Moting v2
Verweij is as reliable as they come for Ajax news afaik. Antony joins De Jong on the list of players we're negotiating for but don't want to actually spend big on. Eventually we'll have to get over the fact that players cost a lot of money.
By Cleff Go To PostIt is crazy how old people used to look. If you told me he was 63 I'd have believed it. (This was apparently in 1961).
Imagine what Stanley Matthews must've looked like considering he played until his early 50s. Must've been shite tbh.
