I'd be happy with Nunez just because I was very impressed by his performance against us in the second leg
Concerns are his injuries (that was the case with Konate as well though tbf) and that a large part of his threat against us was because of the high line, and we did catch him offside against us a lot. Nobody plays that way against us even when they're a goal down.
Wonder if Kelleher looks for a departure soon. He's easily good enough to start for a lot of PL teams I think.

True, but also he’s also 6ft2 and a physical threat, which only really Origi offered last season. Looks like a very Torres-esque signing to me, possibly the start of us playing with a true 9.
By Laboured Go To PostI appreciate how important the midfield thing is, and maybe it's more of a budget consideration, but I have an uncomforatble feeling we're doing the "we can only work on one signing at a time" thing again.Yep. Its like the more things change, the more they stay the same at this club. Also, there is the fact that we can't offer CL football but that is besides the point.
By Willkiller Go To PostLiverpool are scarier with a proper number 9 than City are with one imoThat’s why I wholeheartedly agree with n8. Haaland at Liverpool would have been something disgusting.
Tbh I'm unsure why we were so fixated on Darwin when our midfield is in dire need of strengthening. We need at least two starting quality players there. It's where most of the budget should be spent.
A lack of goals is a concern, but so too is conceding them without an actual holding midfielder, or creating chances without a player to progress the ball into the final third.
Seems like we're trying to cut corners in building the team. Building from goalkeeper and up should be the priority.

We'll eventually need one and I still think we need one this summer as Ronaldo at 38 isn't going to be playing every week no matter how fit he is for his age.

The club were probably pinning their hopes on Greenwood to take up that mantle but turns out he's a cunt so now we are in dire need of a striker. Could be that ETH might look to use Martial there next season if he stays too.
Have to say there have been less and less strong links between players and United this summer (apart from FDJ) so it looks like the club has clamped down on things a bit.
AM9 and “Maybe Rashford is a striker again“ to the rescue.
A cheap signing or a loan would be fine as back up to Ronaldo. Other areas feel more urgent to me.
Eriksen, De Jong, and a more defensive midfielder/destroyer. A left footed centre back, and Timber to play at either right centre back or right back.
Something like that anyway.

Priority seems to be on closing Frenkie, and if reports from sky are to be believed, we are interested in PSV's DM. So clearly we are looking at our midfield.

My concern is with the fact that we seem to be trying to do it one deal/target at a time. To properly fix this squad will need multiple transfer windows. We can't offer CL. And we can't outspend every club out there.
By Laboured Go To PostI mean, our only striker being aged 37 is something of an issue.
Lukaku back? He's doing the return tour
By Feorax Go To PostWonder if someone will finally go for Declan Rice this summer? At 150m? I doubt anybody will and I am sure WH knows that. If somebody will though it will still cost around 100m.

And with a finite budget, I'd rather we prioritise that position above others.

Martial and Rashford can play as strikers, most importantly it doesn’t make any sense to spend 100m€ on a striker that had one good season in a lesser league. I’m sure there’s another striker out there.

Think we’re more likely to be trying to poach Bowen.

Saka would be great for us I don’t doubt, but I’m also pretty certain that he would be much harder to prise away from Arsenal than Bowen would be from West Ham.
Think the only way we end up with Saka would be if Salah signed a new deal for a couple of years and Saka ran his contract down.

There is, but if past performance is anything to go by we just won't find them.

Klopp <3s Martinelli.

He sure does, but I think if we get Nunez then I don’t see where the room is in the squad for another right-footed left winger when we would have him, Jota and Diaz all capable of playing there.
By Killer7 Go To PostWhat’s the fee? Knowing Everton they’re paying like 40m

Heard through the gravepine that he is low 🔑 the most talented baller at Utd.

By Killer7 Go To PostPosted this in April.. not a surprise he was picked up, especially on a free, but here were the other names I thought would get signed:
Decent signing
"Looking at the likely relegation teams, a few names that would probably be worth looking at: Max Aarons, Pierre Lees-Melou, Joao Pedro (maybe), Ismaila Sarr, Emmanuel Dennis, Tarkowski (would be shocked if someone didn't get him), Nick Pope and Cornet -- probably a few others. Cornet and Aarons are probably the two most likely to be targeted by Top 6 type teams."
