Fuck all that. Those two are super worthless once you get Mitchell anyways and you have to make salaries match somehow.
Chandler ended up to be a bum and Gallo end up to be a shitty trade piece btw 😂

That was the last time the Knicks were good and if Amare's knees weren't toast they'd have made a real run lol
Naw y'all are not about to bait me into relitigating the Melo trade. I do that shit enough already with dumbass Knick fans, this is supposed to be my safe space.
The Knicks vs Media shit has gotten really silly on Twitter the last few days. I didn't realize how...hurt? persecuted? the fanbase has felt over the past decade or so. Never felt this kind of energy from Jets or Giants fans who get the same big-city scrutiny when they have down times.
The Jets and Giants aren't run like the Knicks with regards to media relations. Dolan is petty as hell and legit hates the New York beat, that's at the core of all that shit. I don't really care either way, I get why the media is upset, but at the same time why should I care? They're not holding anyone accountable or speaking truth to power, at the end of the day they're reporting on shit I engage with for fun.
The idea that no one can speak to Brunson about his thought process of leaving DAL for NYK is weird, isn't it? Even if it's slightly embarrassing for the org.

Even if it's slightly embarrassing for the org.Weird as in uncommon? Sure. Weird as in concerning for me as a fan? Not in the slightest. I mean Brunson is talking about it, he just talked about it yesterday on JJs podcast in long form. That's far more valuable to me than him saying no comment to a bunch of questions about tampering and Donovan Mitchell.
By domino Go To PostI kind of like the Knicks “fuck y’all we not telling y’all shit. Just watch the games” approachthey lost me when giddey dropped a triple double in an ot win in new york and they didn't riot until thibs was fired
If ya'll don't want to answer questions about tampering just say that, why is this so goddam hard. And if that were the only thing that keeps the Knicks brass from talking to the media, it might even be believable.

You don't interact with enough Knick fans if you don't know that a majority of the fan base was already mid riot by that point. Leon Rose doesn't give a fuck about that noise though. Not enough media access to hold him accountable I guess.

By domino Go To PostI kind of like the Knicks “fuck y’all we not telling y’all shit. Just watch the games” approachNah, it's weird and lets them skirt any kind of accountability. If teams want to proclaim that they're a great public asset (and take tons of taxpayer dollars in the process), they should be willing to face public scrutiny and deal with reporters' questions for like 15 minutes. Why would you give your money to an organization that is too scared to be transparent and tell you why they made a specific decision?
I don't know which one is funnier the idea that the Knicks don't face enough media scrutiny or the idea that the fanbase is complacent and doesn't hold the team accountable themselves.
its hilarious to me im not even trying to make sense of the gymnastics going on anymore
at least heat fans keep it short and sweet

But Vinson can also take somewhat of a drill sergeant approach, tearing down shots before building them back up.
"We broke down my shot like I was just dropped onto the planet and learned how to play basketball for the first time," Pondexter said. "And we never, never, never skipped steps.
"We started right under the basket, and I'd use one hand. He correctly got my hand in place, little details like which finger was on which spot on the ball. I didn't get beyond 10 feet from the basket, and I didn't use my second hand, my guide hand, for the whole first month."
Vinson is using those same lessons on Daniels.
"His approach is that we start right at the basket," Daniels said. "Do the same thing, day in, day out. One-hand shooting, every time. We start close and slowly move out. It's very repetitive, but you get used to it.
"When I first got there, we were probably doing 500 shots just around the rim, five feet. We'd extend to the free throw line, one-handed. Total of maybe 700 shots per day."
[…]
Vinson believes that anyone can become a good shooter, as long as they possess certain traits. The first is a good work ethic. Next is a love of shooting. But the most important? Learning how to fail.
"[It requires] a lot of mental toughness, because these guys have had so much success," Vinson said. "Sometimes, when you struggle as you're rebuilding, you have to be OK with failure."

Pretty sure Olshey has fielded questions from reporters more recently than Rose and he hasn't been acting GM for almost a year now. Wild the company line people are willing to accept.
By reilo Go To PostTaking questions from reporters is a pretty easy baseline to meetIt should be! Look, I really don't care about the Knicks. They suck, they don't, it doesn't matter to me. It's just my principle that people in positions of authority, like say a guy running a multi billion dollar business, should at the very least have to sit in front of journalists for like half an hour every once in a while.
The Timberwolves literally have the lowest winning percentage in NBA history, but they at least send their front office staff out there to talk to reporters about every bad move. I may not have liked the reasoning, but I do know why Kevin McHale traded for Marko Jaric.

i think one of the craziest things i picked up was hearing how kemba massively improved his shooting. for him it was dramatically increasing his core strength. that way his 'base' wasn't always solely dependent on his footwork and he could just rely on squaring from his hips upwards. made a ton of sense because his form was never inherently bad either.
can't remember if it was mark price, silas, or someone else he credited for that though
had never thought about that before, but it makes a ton of sense for players who are going to have to be able to shoot off the dribble
Why should I be subjected to vibe killing journalists when I can enjoy this wonderful piece of state run media?
By DY_nasty Go To Postthis is actually pretty dopeYeah, that makes sense. If you are shooting off the dribble a lot, you will almost never be able to really square up your legs. Gotta learn how to adjust for that somehow without having to rework your whole shot.

You still gotta learn how to shoot in ideal conditions first, though. lol

I been doing form shooting with my nephews almost exclusively. My brother in law did so much damage to their shots in the first year of the pandemic, he let my nephew shoot from pretty much anywhere cause he wanted to beat him in horse. So, last year when I started working with him again he could make layups with either hand and his dribble was still really good, but his shot was so broken, it looked like he was doing a hadoken cause he was heaving and his feet were all fucked up. I spent the summer doing almost nothing but fundamental stuff with him and nothing but form shooting to fix it, now a year later he's good money again and even though he shoots from further with his friends, the feet, hand placement and everything else is picture perfect again. He even criticizes people for long twos, I keep telling him rim, mid-range or three, the long 2s are trash.
Gonna break down his shot again next month with the Vinson approach, just to drill in the fundamentals even more.
long 2's are hilarious. how did no coach tell their players "look, if you're gonna take a long shot just go back 1 foot and get an extra point"
been watching older games on youtube and T-Mac probably could have averaged 40 if he didn't pump fake and take 1 step forward.

KG would have been a 30ppg scorer if he just took a step back on all those top of the key jumpers he took
Chris Webber is the guy that comes to mind for me
edit: ehh his 16+ foot jumpshot stats aren't as good as they were in my mind

People can't actually expect Mitchell (or Clarkson) to know for a fact when/if/where they're getting traded when their team is clearly in the middle of an aggressive rebuild.
The Pacers probably don't hang up the phone if they're only promised 1 Laker FRP for Turner, but don't they kind of need a center and/or tradebait for Ayton at the deadline?
