On one hand I do think the tax rules should be more lenient in that regard. If you draft well, you shouldn't be punished for it.
On the other hand, when you can privately build a new stadium in San Francisco then I don't think you have the right to complain about unfair taxes. Your whole wealth was accumulated by paying less taxes than someone making 30k a year.

But then fast-forward to four months and I could just feel in my movement, “Man, I didn’t even ealize how bad it was. Because I had been dealing with it for four and a half years. And it was getting worse and worse, but I was still able to have 50 on a night. Or I was still able to move kind of well some nights. And it would be after the game, I would go home and I would have a bulge, over my pubic area, and it would be like a baseball was under there…that type of swelling. By the time I’d wake up, it would go down. And then the next day it would do it again.I definitely blame Olshey.

By Burt The Samurai Go To PostWhat the fuck was going on in Portland brehTrash ass GM was more concerned about making the playoffs cause that was his barometer for a successful season. He didn't give af about anything else.

all in or all out on the draft
plus its better than being stuck with a bunch of picks that turn into a whole lot of romeo langfords

I'm fine with 7 picks as long as we didn't give up 29 or any of IQ Grimes or Obi.
There's also the possibility that this deal is not with the Knicks, which I'm even more fine with.

lol
If we're giving up the largest pick haul ever for a player to not come anywhere near being a contender then I think we should keep all of our young players with upside. Not seeing the lol there.
By masud Go To PostI don't even know how to respond to this. You wanna expand on your thoughts here?the hold up is boobie gibson, g league superstar grimes, and garbage time sensation obi toppin. im not tripping lol

those picks are mostly protected too right? its the classic ainge notional warchest haul
DY you can't let that slip you wait until after the trade happens to say omg Knicks gave up Grimes what fools
By DY_nasty Go To Postthe hold up is boobie gibson, g league superstar grimes, and garbage time sensation obi toppin. im not tripping lolThat's the hold up after 7 draft picks 3 of which are unprotected future Knicks picks! We have to have some way to plausibly improve a team that's still not getting out of the first round even with Mitchell. I'm not too confident that any of those 3 are going to amount to more than solid role players but that would be all we have left to bet on so I want all 3 of those dice rolls if this trade is to go down. What I really want is to not do this trade though.

But sure lol
If we’re giving up all our picks then we better be keeping the young guys
Not because they’re untouchable but who we gonna have 4 years from now

ijs masud making it sound like this is keldon johnson, maxey, and wendell carter jr lmao
all these dudes failed to make an impact on a team begging help at multiple positions. better guys get found in the g-league every year, and when ny starts winning even a little bit then they won't be forced to overpay for everyone like they're a small market team or something anymore.
and for clarity's sake - this is not exactly assets on assets either https://www.prosportstransactions.com/basketball/DraftTrades/Future/Knicks.htm

He's good, getting starter minutes somewhere else he'll have a breakout season.
keep them for what lol. which is it
if developing talent was the goal or even something you guys did passively, then thibs would've been fired and the entire approach to the past two offseasons would've been different
if you're out to bring in substantial talent that's capable of quickly elevating the roster and matching the coach's expectations, then you have to sell high while you can on everyone
how you gonna pussyfoot in every direction at once

By DY_nasty Go To Postkeep them for what lol. which is itYou keep them because your only chance of making that next trade that actually makes the Knicks contenders is one of these guys hitting ànd becoming a trade chip and not a throw in. Otherwise what is the path to significant improvement for this team in the foreseeable future? Really tell me? Do i think any of those 3 make that leap? No probably not. That's why I don't want to do this trade. But if we are doing the trade I want to keep every asset we can. This is not a top 4 team in the east, maybe not top 6. More moves are needed and we need some prayer of being able to make them.
