By reilo Go To PostNah they are doing both though. They're having ex players and media heads constantly talk how shit they think the product is while providing bad statistical analysis. It's all broken. This PatBev shit is just the shit cherry on top and even worse for the league. If hate is the only way you can find fans to tune in, then your product and media partners are fucked.NFL has shown that if anyone is gonna talk shit to get content started, its best if its an active, involved player
A whole mountain above wondering if a player's lack of a father figure is why he can't lead a team to the playoffs
The whole thing is shit, you know I've been saying as much.
But active scrubs like PatBev talking shit about the league he's an active participant in isn't the way out.

The NBA has always been driven by drama. They saved the league by turning Magic and Bird into a chose your side thing. Pat at least was speaking on players he guarded for years and I would rather hear that than whatever shitty angle some stat square would make up.
Also somebody is going to try to stunt on him next year and people will tune in for it

Bev isn't *acting* like he's a contributor as if he's Ryan Collins or something. And he's been in character his whole career unlike Kendrick Perkins - who turns into a victim the moment people call him out for supporting some layered bullshit. He's also not calling guys long/special/african like RJ. Or putting outright lies out there like Jay Williams.
Dude is talking shit on a heavily endorsed player who's fallen flat on their face after being a douchebag at every level of the sport while asking ESPN to spread the scrutiny they give everyone else who has a bad 5 game stretch.
All negative energy is not bad. There's a way to do it - and active/recently retired players have been quality at it this year. Whether it's Dray calling out guys live, Reddick defending players from bullshit narratives like Cousy Syndrome, Marcus Smart openly commenting about difficulty in his locker room then fixing it in the same season, etc.
NBA has been awful at giving a platform to guys like Shaq who'll shit on a guy in a post game interview after a career night, commentators talking trades while a damn good game is happening right in front of them, not knowing what the best teams are even good at or even impact players to watch on bad teams.
For a guy rolling out of bed with no real live media prep or script, Bev did a DAMN good job shitting on a WOAT playoff performance lol....

Reminds me of this, not sure why it's not used more often. Basically unguardable.
By pilonv1 Go To PostAlso Mavs/Warriors is the real finalsThis is how I feel about it as well, though I do want a Mavs vs Heat Part 3
By pilonv1 Go To PostMost players would probably miss the rim by five feet if they tried that in a real game is my guess.

I think the Celtics can beat either of the western teams. I think the Heat would beat the Mavs but I have a feeling that Curry and Green would torch the gimmicky shit that Miami runs on defense (which is most effective against dumb teams).

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostPoole's entire game is travels and carries, quite impressive to get away with it.Terrence Ross with more friends I know you see it
By s y Go To Postwhat's the gimmicky shit Miami runs on defense? The aggressive trapping? The random zone for one play? Dont get me wrong it works, i just don't know how effective its gonna be against one of the smarter offensive teams in basketball.
Celts in 6 so we probably won't even find out...
Y'all gonna apologize for your words and deeds against Wiggins.
What the Heat did to the Cs in the 3rd is no different than what the Cs did to the Nets. No easy entry passes to, and no comfortable isos for, the #1 option. Cs just took almost 10 minutes to adjust.

By pilonv1 Go To PostHe'll have one good game then go AWOL for three. Fuck him, bring back Harry B
You don't mean that. Warriors probably have 4 rings if he didn't shit the bed and set a bad example for guys like Joe Harris.

Charles said if you make shots you're fine. The revelation so big it couldn't have come from a smaller man.
The Game 7 hangover is real.
The Mavs just don't have enough guys to go all the way, I think. They've figured out the right way to build around Luka but there's no flexibility if guys aren't hitting open shots. We can't bench DFS, Bullock, or Kleber because there's literally no one else on the team to take their spot.

Heat defense is built around flopping on the defensive end and the threat that someone is going to take a charge & fall down if you even think about driving. They have 7 players in the top 40 for charges drawn, just an abomination and abuse of the rules. That's how they get away with Bam switching so much, cause whoever rotates over isn't guarding the rim or making a play on the ball, they're just waiting to get in the way and fall over. They're like a mid-major NBA team using gimmicks and it works cause the refs are idiots.
They'd be a 25 win team if the charge circle was just a foot bigger.
Mavs just don’t have the depth the other three teams have. Warriors can bring on Porter and Poole and not lose a step. Luka looked shook all night.
The Mavs shot 22% from 3 getting quality looks too... Their offense was generating looks, they were just missing.
Derrick White out because his wife is giving birth?
*************
Lol nah, he plays ok defense but is shook so seeing Celtics fan claim rigged is funny
Missing Smart and Horford is worse
