It is a sign of how far United have fallen that Gary Neville is saying "I'm actually proud of him" about a youth player who comes on and does nothing but commit 3 fouls in a 4-0 loss lmao.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostKind of an insane idea but has he ever been tried as a defensive midfielder? He's got the David Luizes about him - looks terrible without a proper setup but can possibly do a job as a DM.Far too slow on the turn imo

Pretty sure he started his career as a CM. Being slow is more of a problem as a DM than it is as a CB tho.
By Righteous Furry Go To PostFernandes' work rate and grinta is a mythhis grinta is how he starts kicking players around whenever he's losing
Thiago fantastic
Liverpool on the whole very good
Diaz a good addition
Mane played really well which he usually doesn't, usually just good at running and scoring
Hannibal 🔥🔥🔥
Epl will be interesting race to 4th and 1st

As I said last time we lost: it is not the losing I’m particularly concerned about. That happens. We do not have a god given right to win football matches just because Frogson was a shaman.
It’s the absolute waste of money over the last ten years, the lack of modernising the football club, and more than anything the lack of heart, passion, care, whatever you want to call it, from the players. They don’t give a shit. When you’re being paid hundreds of thousands of pounds and people’s moods and feelings are partially reliant on you giving a shit, that’s unforgivable.

I think he’s far too slow and couldn’t handle a press.

Any CB should be able to muster the occasional speculative cross field.

I don’t think this is true.
The super inflated contracts insane as usual. You can't sell them for a decent fee if they're earning wages they'll never earn elsewhere.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostDo United fans put Maguire on the #ListOfDepartures or naw? He’d be number one on my list but he’s unsellable unfortunately. Dogshit CB and expensive as all fuck. Slower mentally than he is physically too
Unsure myself if he's failing because of the system or if he's just a genuinely bad footballer
We need three new fullbacks, a new centre back, two midfielders and a striker.
Seeing as we won't get that, I'd take a distinguishable system of play, where it looks like the side is defending as a unit. Sort that out first and then build from there.

This is why I'm so glad United didn't go for Conte. He'd had transformed the players on just about every level.
Maguire became immediately impossible to back when he did his cupped ears celebration after scoring for England. Absolute tit behaviour.

Continue to earn 150k a week and sit on the bench with no pressure
OR go to another club and get 50k a week
Ez choice

By Xpike Go To Postmanchester united has finally become arsenal
I might be wrong because I obviously don’t support them, but I always feel Arsenal had likeable players who tried; the quality just wasn’t there.
United are just full of snakes and egotists. Rashford deserves all the adulation in the world for off-field exploits, but he looks like he can’t be fucked.
Only player giving a shit today was Sancho.
Lindelof is by far the worst regular starting defender at United. Has zero outstanding attributes and sails through games hiding behind his defensive partner.

They all gave up on the seasons months ago - their body language is so telling - they may as well be wearing neon signs.
Wan-Bissaka for 50m or whatever it was is somehow even more diabolical than the fee for Maguire. The latter at least will probably do very well under a different manager and system but the former has no redeemable qualities as a footballer.
Lindelof is everything Mourinho foolishly thought Blind was. Physically weak, slow to react panicky in high pressure situations. We sold the better player for £10m and deprived ourselves of an excellent ball playing centre back. Then we bought Victor for £30m.
Thanks Jose.
Thanks Jose.

Daley was a very good outlet and versatile option on the left or CDM, but they way we played under Mou soaking up pressure and stacking the box it would've never worked out.
Thanks Jose.
With a proper partner or even better, 3 at the back, Blind could still be doing a good job to this day.
Stopped watching after 2-0, glad to hear Hannibal was amazing when he came on. The future is bright for United.
Just get Sir H. Kane and Declan "Dec" Rice as welcome gifts for 10 Hack and that should fix most issues with the team.

Meanwhile Murtough and Fletcher mumble "...but we're Man United..." under their breaths.
Can’t wait for him to be sacked at the end of the season and then do an incredibly insightful interview with Bild
Hannibal, Elanga and Sancho are our only players who look interested in moving from their positions in order to make an easier passing option for the ball carrier. Two academy players who haven't been exposed too much to the senior system, and a signing who comes from a different league.
It's a major problem that is rife throughout the squad. They don't present themselves for a pass anywhere near enough. Rashford used to do it but stopped moving as freely over the last 18 months or so. I'm sure it's a product of the lack of actual coaching over the last 4/5 years which is now really beginning go take its toll. Our players aren't comfortable in possession. They don't play in any predefined patterns to pass around a block, which off the ball movement would help achieve. And they just make dumb choices in attack and defence.
We've ruined so many players in recent years. I hope the appointment of Ten Hag and clear out of 6/7 senior players will see us start to scrape our way from caveman football to something approaching the modern way.
