I really like the summons and think it's a really smart and intuitive way of addressing the difficulty complaints, but man, I think I'm getting close to being 'that guy' and stop using them altogether.
It trivialises some of the fights and I genuinely feel like it's robbing me of the experience in some ways :lol

I'm all for people adjusting their own difficulty in-game like that. It's a nice skip button if you're not enjoying yourself in a fight too lol

And you're not wrong, I did. Most bosses are way cooler to fight solo and I enjoy the process of learning how to counter and adapt to their movesets.

Honestly I feel like most of the summons outside of my Margit fight have been kinda not that helpful. Lol
Boink!! Love it Data
Most are good for their utility and are fun to use honestly! I feel like some fights are actually designed for spirit ash use

Yurt … you ever use the dash ash of war? I’m having a hard time experimenting because I love it so much lmao. The roll sucks comparatively and it’s like Returnal mixed into my souls

I use it on my Dex character purely because its way too cool. But I do carry around 3 weapons with 3 different Ashes of War equipped lmao
If you've been to Caelid and you wanna know where to find it go to the bridge next to Lenne's Rise in Dragonborrow....at night
Quickstep IS fucking cool too
Quickstep IS fucking cool too
I was holding onto so many smithing stones because I didn’t have any level (1) to boost my katana I found. Got a ball bearing last night that added to my items I can purchase and wow I can buy a duck ton and now have three weapons leveled way up. Also spent some held souls in levels.
Much better lol

Do you guys think the second half of Elden Ring has more than a whiff of the first Dark Souls?
Like, there's nothing I have encountered that is as offensively bad as Lost Izalith or Bed of Chaos, but it feels like they have ran out of steam. Reused after reused enemies, or bosses, and more generally a lack of discovery that was there before.
(I'm in the Mountaintop of the Giants/Lake of Rot)

I didn't like that area, it felt more like shadow of the colossus lol, which sure because giants I guess but still. Thankfully the two connected to it are absolutely brilliant. (2nd medallion and post forge). So the sooner you're done with it the better lmao
By Cleff Go To PostMini Radahn 😭The arts community overshadowed the memers you love to see it
Horse Report Item #2:
Done nearly all of Limgrave save for Margit and Stormveil itself. Agheel was v simple and Tree Sentinel took a few tries but was doable.
Other than those I'm trying to psyche myself up for Crucible Knight. Otherwise heading down to Weeping Peninsula in time-honoured fashion.
Still two-handing the Uchigatana +3 with Unsheathe (although the version out in the field which gives better Dex scaling). Have also been testing out Twinblade +3 with Quick Step but I'm not completely sold on Quick Step yet.

good shit Horsey! You're about rinse Margit from the looks of it
Uchi with Unsheathe is so fun. If you manage to find another katana try powerstancing them (equip both and spam L1s)

I dislike Calid lol it’s just so ugly. I feel like other decrepit areas of souls games still looked more appealing while being drab and miserable…. Made it to what I thought would be the Radhan battle, but instead I’m fighting red mane and some crucible knight at once. Took out the boss in the swamp and the invasion Millicent as well and delivered the needle. Still need to take out the jar knight
Prolly should have started as something other than the bandit. Need a second katana.

the whole area and Radahn are optional unless you're doing Ranni/Blaidd's quest. Yesss you're doing Millicent's quest too!! It's wonderful ;_;
man you're gonna love the next area, it's just perfect in every way.

Started making my way to rannis rise last night. I hadn’t done the castle with the fingers for some reason.
ooh, I'd go there first then! For story reasons
I'm still not sure what the trigger is for that duo fight but clearing Liurnia and using the grand lift once skipped it entirely for me
so you'll have an easier straightforward path to Radahn later

The grand lift is a trigger. I have the two pieces to do that too but am going to do rannis rise cause I can’t help myself.

I dunno if you found Blaidd already, but it's possible to meet him very early on.
normally if I enjoy someone's VA I'll focus on their quest because I wanna hear more of them lmao and Ranni, Blaidd and Iji knocked it out of the park.
Enjoyed watching Blaidd bash the piss out of Darriwil. Good thing too because he was taking forever to summon the lazy git.
Ok I'm coming back to Crucible Knight later because I'm finding few windows to hurt him bar using magic or using a shield which I'm not set up to do atm. Should I be switching up equipment a lot to match the scenario or can I be stubborn?

I would, but go in with the set up you feel most comfortable with!
the most efficient way to deal with crucibles is parrying
but just rolling then punishing their missed swings works too. Just don't be greedyyy
you can annoy him with glinstones (consumable) if you have some lol

Yeah I saw a lot of people recommending parrying. Annoyed I'd not thought of jumping over the stomp.
By Laboured Go To PostMuh boi Banished Knight Engvall is getting things done.S Tierrrrr. Tank, range, teleports....James Milner
Also just picked up Lhutel the Headless.
Almost done with Weeping Peninsula now. Just Castle Morne (and that fucker Ancient Hero of Zamour) left.
I have so many ashes of war to play around with. Yurt do you use any of the elemental ones? Get the dual status due to native bloods loss on katanas or does that change the phys damage modifier? You just stick with keen?

Keen is great for raw damage but I'd take slightly less damage for more bleed/status effects
adding more bleed to native bleed weapons is crazy since it stacks

If you’re dual wielding do you double stack one bleed and add frost to the second?
By Fenderputty Go To PostIf you’re dual wielding do you double stack one bleed and add frost to the second?I do, but mainly for fun. Frost only procs once, and when it does that arm is basically useless the whole fight lol
If you want max damage for Dex go for double keen with two blood AoWs
my character is Arcane so doubling down on Bleed (and later 'Occult') benefits me more
I’m thinking of respecting not sure … the ashes of war, skills and abilities adds a lot of variety lol …
DO ITTTTTTT
you'll get plenty of Larval Tears! I did plenty of times and based my builds on weapons I wanted to fuck around with lol
