By Batong-TT Go To PostCongrats DiPro!
Oh, we're at the top of the standings, look at that.
Gold only for you. What a nation!
Guy who won ours grew up a kilometer away from where i live. People were driving and honking at 6AM lol.
We're tied with australia. Do they even have snow?
By bud Go To Postwatching the figure skating event.A man of true taste. The individual event will be even better, because many of the top skaters had no opportunity to perform in the team event (especially considering the Russian skating federation's decision to use the same skaters across both the short program and free skate, which still has me bitter).
these women are artists.
I'm worried, though, about how COVID will affect everyone's opportunity to skate. One of the US men tested positive several hours ago, someone who could've contended for a podium spot. Not only is he unlikely to compete in the men's singles event (which starts in approximately 11 hours), but he skated in the team event less than a day and a half ago, making one wonder where he might've got it and where he might've already spread it.
By LeonidDikapriovLung Go To PostWho's the hottest figure skaters this time around Flabber? I need to know who to support.Ice dance is full of them. Watch the rhythm dance, identify your favorite, and you'll have someone to cheer for in the free.
"Women's" singles is mostly pixel-thin teenagers.
By LeonidDikapriovLung Go To PostThere's someone called Karen. Going to cheer for her.Karen Chen. Nice skater, but unlikely to be competitive for the top spots. Willkiller would hate her, because she's American.
By LeonidDikapriovLung Go To PostUnderstandable. He is an anti American legacy piece of shit.Meanwhile, the British figure skating team consists of two Scots and a woman born in the US to Canadian parents. Proper English domination that.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostIs that Canadian skating lad still trapped in Vancouver? As far as I know. He's waiting for negative tests that are unlikely to arrive in time. Keegan's a good lad, and it's unfortunate his Olympics are playing out like this.
Edit: Never mind. I apparently missed the news that he arrived in Beijing several hours ago.
Hanyu might’ve squandered his chance at a third consecutive gold with his first jump in his first program. I can’t believe it.
Ester Ledecka who won gold in both ski and snowboarding last olympics defender her snowboarding gold today. her ski event is on friday... imagine if she repeats this.
i wonder how it feels training all your life in one disciplin and then getting shown up by a part timer.
what a lass.

Korea very pissed off with China over the speed skating penalties. Even BTS going to war with China.

Shanks out there having the skate of his life.
This scandal has the potential to be enormous, because Eteri’s team contains all three skaters who were likely to sweep the women’s singles podium at Beijing as well as the winners of gold and silver at the last Olympics and innumerable medals over the past several years at both the senior and juniors levels of the World Championships, European Championships, Grand Prix, and Russian National Championships.
By inky Go To Posthttps://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/feb/09/legal-issue-delays-beijing-medal-ceremony-for-russian-figure-skating-winter-olympicsRumors have been swirling around Eteri and her skaters for years, but the latest ones are pretty damning. Like everyone else, I’m merely waiting for anything official to be explained. Why are the results of a test in December being brought out now? How involved was the Russian Federation in bringing her to the European Championships and the Beijing Olympics despite the tests? And the question that we’ll probably never fully know: what is the entire list of coaches, doctors, officials, parents, etc, who either engineered the doping of these young girls or who knowingly, intentionally, and complicity aided, overlooked, failed to report, or otherwise enabled this for money, fame, soft power, etc?

By diehard Go To Postfellow Utahn doin in for Men's skating eh? niceIt would’ve been a cosmic injustice if he hadn’t. Since his free skate in Pyeongchang, he’s been practically unbeatable. It wasn’t his most flawless program ever, but it was obvious how much he wasn’t merely skating but thoroughly celebrating the moment.
I’ll be depressed if he decides to retire after this. He physically has another four+ years in him, if he still has the drive to compete.
