Like yeah, we need better than Matic, but a manager that works with what they have (ie Dalot, Telles, Matic) is much more welcome than one who sticks to his few faves and runs them to the ground regardless of opposition.

His point is that he is a manager who expects to challenge at the top. If Levy doesn't have the same expectation then there's no point carrying on together. What does Levy think this club can achieve with players like Emerson in the starting XI? He wouldn't get a game for Burnley and they are in the bottom 3.
We have changed manager enough times in the last 3 years to see that it doesn't solve the basic problem. The squad doesn't have enough good players.

Eg.
2008/09 season
Chelsea vs Barca
Chelsea 1-0
Chelsea going through to the final
1-1 and Chelsea are now going home
No middle ground. Now, 1 goal will only ever be decisive if it's already a draw and it's the winning goal. Otherwise 1 goal drama will be a late goal taking a game to extra time.

I don't think it is fair to put all the blame on Levy for what happened with Poch. Spurs had underinvested in the squad, sure, but the season after the CL final Poch spent £120m+ on Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon, and they all flopped. Levy presumably was not involved in actually choosing which players to sign, someone blew that opportunity for Spurs.
Conte isn't walking away now, the notion of that is pretty silly I think. He's incredibly emotional but this is obviously a combination of him being incredibly disappointed after a really fantastic win and him wanting to make it very clear to the board that he thinks the squad needs significant investment in the summer
