By FootbalIFan Go To PostScum what is your stance on the home/away goals rule being removedFor me, it does take away a bit of the excitement but like you said - it’s the perfect excuse to have the Super League live on. CL at 4am, anyone?
Join me in hating this new aged system
By Batong-curling Go To PostThat will do indeed. Wonder if Jota picked up an injury though 🤔

By n8 dogg Go To PostI loved away goal ruleMe too man..me too.
I don’t really see how not having the away goal rule is any different than having it. All it demonstrably changes in my eyes is whether a team plays defensively away or at home.
I think it makes a big difference to the results, if not the performances.
With away goals, Madrid's result yesterday was terrible. Without, there's every chance they overcome it.

My main issue is more extra times and penalties.
Madrid winning the second leg 2-1 means extra time now. Before it meant psg go through on away goals.
Just a big increase in chances of extra time and penalties which I find are the most boring parts of cup football.

By Hytch Go To PostI think it makes a big difference to the results, if not the performances. It remains to be seen I guess if it will make a big difference to results. Personally I think any difference will be negligible, if there is at all. In the case of the PSG-Madrid game, would they have played any differently the way they did yesterday if the away goal rule was there? I don’t think so. They were vastly outclassed and only managed to lose 1-0 due to 🐍‘s goalkeeping heroics and PSG will similarly beat them in the next leg.

So away goal rule or not doesn’t change anything in this leg besides our perception of the first leg… and I’m doubtful anyone watching that game thinks they have a chance to overcome PSG in the second leg, away goal rule or not.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostMy main issue is more extra times and penalties. This is a really good point actually that I haven’t considered. It will be interesting to see what happens with extra time and if we get more of it or teams just decide to go for it to avoid extra time.

Imagine finding penalty shootouts boring. With away goals they happen at a rate I'm happy with, can easily see them happening so often now though that they lose their magic.
By Willkiller Go To PostI want to hear the ones for the Ajax game
It’s hardly a shame to lose to Ajax. Great club
FIFA just want more players to destroy their legs. With the away rule games were more exciting and there were less games going to extra time. Now expect every game to go to extra time like in the euro.
Man I can’t even watch fuckin highlights for CL anymore because DAZN lost their rights in Japan. F this S

Does it realy matter in what clown league you play, most matches you win easily anyway (good for stats) and in the end it is about CL for both teams.

But it always amazes me how well his Spanish and English are in interviews, definetly groomed by his management team for something out of France.
