By Kidjr Go To PostIs there a sport harder than F1 you think?
Out of mainstream sports, I think it is the hardest.
Maybe it is not the hardest sport to get to the top of, as sponsorship can play a big role. But the two hours that a driver is in the car during race day is unmatched.

@KP, Haas episode was great indeed, exactly what you want out of a show like this. Backstage talks that you do not get access to in a normal weekend.
Yep finally, curious to what new rules are going to do order, but also to the racing. No more Q2 tire rule, closer field (hopefully) so no free air pits stops for front runners, slightly colder tires after stop so undercut slightly less effective? And if overtaking is easier, that might lead to more stops (if tires of course) as you are not that long stuck behind other car. And with engine (ICU) homologated, all pretty close in output would be great for the next few seasons.
Ferrari looked good all two test, RBR showed up on last day and McLaren wasn't to far off in Barca, brake probs (heat) in Bahrain and hopefully completely fixed for this race. Merc great question mark, need to solve the bouncing issues and if they have done that prob close to front two, if not front midfield???
Midfield, if there is any at all, looked mega close in testing and hope we will not see the return of real backmarker teams, but one big pack. depending on track and set-up, might mean chance of points or out in Q1 depending on the track.
Were some teams with reliability issues, so would not be to surprised if we see some struggling to make it to the S&F line in the first 2/3 races.

One of the main reasons for me to sign up for IPTv from the main Korean provider was for Star Sports, as they showed F1.
Was enjoying the whole of the season watching with only a 30 second delay as compared to the three minute delay with streams back in the day.
Then when I went to watch a free practice session in September the channel had disappeared haha.
Disney killed Star Sports to move a lot of their Asian channels under Disney+ that was going to launch.
Now there is no way to watch Formula 1 on regular Korean TV:(((
I don’t want to go through the shit of finding streams anymore, so used a VPN to register for F1TV.
Gonna try it out for a month and see how things are.
Do they have the Sky feed for comms?

@Shanks, yes last few seasons was Sky comms on F1tv, haven't heard anything about a chance for this season.
Quality was good here, at least for FP sessions as I used my 4k tv feed, gonna miss that thas year with new provider in Netherlands (viaplay syreaming 1080), for the races.

Just saw the last season of Drive and wow Verstappen is kind of a wanker in that one. Not rooting for Red Bull this season, that’s for sure.

Verstappen is a wanker but he is also really against Drive To Survive. In fact he has said basically he hates them.
Yeah. Nothing against the show, and I'm no Max fan, but it's a dramatisation. They really play him up as the villain this season, more than the last few
Did Max and Red Bull ever apologise for the their radio transmissions basically saying there was a conspiracy favouring Merc before Masi did what he did?

Probably same drawer
I don’t remember Ferrari ever being publicly found guilty of cheating, or having to admit guilt.
Thus, Ferrari have never cheated :)))

By KP Go To PostYou know I’m desperate for race weekend when I’m watching driver press conferences and F3 practice
Tell me about it.
I an counting down the minutes till FP2. 88 now.
My partner's brother and his wife are staying with us over the weekend. I'm missing the full opening weekend :(
Alpine (Ocon new bodywork gone) early red flag threw a spanner in the first runs, only one lap. After that different programs, short quick runs for most, McLaren/RBR/Haas did long runs on the mediums. Valteri misfiring engine, so no laps and only Williams looks slightly more of pace so far and Merc still with similar (testing) probs.
No clue who hot paid for all the less readable timing stuff
Ocon bodywork:
Merc bouncing:
Charles spin hotlap:

The contrast between the S for soft tire and the black background looked bad on the broadcast but sure we’ll get used to it
Merc engine speedtraps were ok (not saying they might turn them up a little tomorrow) , Ferrari PU's best, so the pre-season rumours about them being on top again might be true. Wonder what and how many of it are they burning again :P
FP2:
Looks like a shout-out between Max and Charles, both teammates were to far of today, but that might just be trying different things today for the team. George pulled one out of the bag, but otherwise I would say huge midfield with Alpine/Merc at the front of it and AM at the end of it, only Williams looks to be further off (no tire testing last year hurting them??).
Long runs Max starting 10 secs behind Lewis and easily passing him must have hurt Merc, mid 37s vs mid 38s, only Charles (after some probs) started in the 37s as well. Rest was from mid 38 to low 39s, so again very close.
Lets see what tomorrow brings but right now would say Max/Charles front row with either of the two capable to pick pole.
Yuki 2 parts

Never know what engine modes or fuel loads are being used, but I am very pleased with both Ferraris. Looked comfortable both sessions.
Max looked awesome and I wouldn’t be surprised if he could have gone much faster. I can only hope that Charles is able to do tue same tomorrow.
While I am not a Merc and Lewis fan, and seeing them struggling does give me a smile, I hope they can turn it around because I don’t want to see a great driver struggling because of a poor car.
