By markao Go To PostNo more Russian flagAndretti may just scoop up Haas just for the entry. Haas doesn't have much else going for it, other than a base in the uk and a small amount of staff. They are a tiny team.
I can't imagine Mazepin holding his seat for a second longer than it takes Haas to find another driver who can bring their own money in, and I can't imagine that taking very long either.

I was thinking yesterday that it's good that Ferrari and Alpine have been able to put serious miles in as they are bringing revamped engines this year.
- There is no way things get resolved quickly and the absolute right call.
- For Haas it is also obvious that UralKali as main sponsor with the ties to the Kremlin is a no go. Cannot see them keeping Nikita, no prob seeing him go (not good enough), but not like this. But with alll the travel restrictions for Russians in place, even if Haas would want to keep him, a no go.
- Whom to replace him, Fittipaldi as reserve, Hulk/Kevin under contract, Gio most logical but not good enough, so Piastri pls? (also good for Mick, benchmark)
- Lot of red flags interrupting running today and start afternoon session is wet tires, wonder how floors work when you pull a lot off water through those venturi's
- And no more Alpine today, leakage and fire and prob a lot burned and no replacement parts, so we see them back in Bahrain

And morning dry session:
1. Russell (Mercedes) 1m19.233s, C5, 66 laps
2. Verstappen (Red Bull) 1m19.756s, C3, 59 laps
3. Vettel (Aston Martin) 1m19.824s, C4, 48 laps
4. Leclerc (Ferrari) 1m19.831s, C3, 44 laps
5. Latifi (Williams) 1m20.699s, C4, 5 laps
6. Norris (McLaren) 1m20.827s, C3, 52 laps
7. Alonso (Alpine) 1m21.242s, C3, 12 laps
8. Zhou (Alfa Romeo) 1m21.939s, C3, 41 laps
9. Gasly (AlphaTauri) 1m22.469s, C2, 40 laps
10. Albon (Williams) 1m22.652s, C2, 21 laps
11. Mazepin (Haas) 1m26.229s, C3, 9 laps
Favourite addition to this years testing, knowledgeable without jumping to (performance) conclusions.

By Lunatic Go To PostWhat's going on there? Snapped suspension?new cars, new suspension systems and wanting your car as close to the ground all the time (harder sprung), therefore the bouncing (less softer dampning).
Add the floors (keep them in one piece) and I think you will see far less curb hopping this year
By Vini.lad Go To PostI like itme too, lovely detail on the wheel covers and better than last year livery.
I like it a lot
Like the mixed coloured grid this year and cars look mostly better as well, so lets hope the racing will match it.
Alfa on track
Not sure if with all the visa's Nikita needs to fly to all races, it makes a lot of difference for him.
I didn't really expect the FIA to force him out, not unless he starts doing something like taping pictures of Putin to his steering wheel or deliberately saying provoking stuff on social media or the like.
Whether Haas wants to keep him around if he starts tearing up cars or otherwise costing the team money during the season while his dad isn't able to pay the bills... that's another matter.

Inevitable, any word on who is going to do test/ race for them?
Fitipaldi as reserve steps up? Hope for better quality

By FortuneFaded Go To PostCongrats Pelegracias
but I don't think Fittipaldi will be there. He's not a F1 level driver imho.
By Punished Go To PostGio the other one speculated.not bad, but also nothing special, still better than Fitpaldi I guess
By Vini.lad Go To PostgraciasNeither was Mazepin

By FortuneFaded Go To PostNeither was MazepinFitti doesnt have the money he had neither
that's why it's astonishing he's even being considered for the spot
By MF Coom Go To PostSo eerm Mercedes with no sidepods that's pretty dope if the rumors are true
that silly rumour mill got completely out of hands. I mean they spended, I don't know how much time (money) to get the Barca cooling package to look like this and than throw that all away, sure.
The car, like all others, will be race spec for the next week and will no doubt have some updates, but not a complete redesign.
By Punished Go To Postdef best option, also good for Mick
