By LFMartins86 Go To PostFantastic game from Alcaraz. A legend in the making. He has 4 GS at 21.... he's already one.
4/4 in finals too
By Rob Go To PostAlcaraz looking like shit tonightDown 2 sets and still not looking good.
It does put into perspective how insane Federer's run of 23 consecutive grand slam semi final appearances from 2004 to 2010 was. Nadal's record was 7 and Novak's was 14.
Four Roland Garros finals in a row. Federer is one of the all time great clay court players. Just so happened that he completed against the greatest clay court specialist ever in Nadal.
yeah shame for both nadal and federer and even djokovic that they just happened to play against 3 goat contenders.
Jack gets the break. He has not dropped a set the whole tournament. Winner faces Sinner or Medvedev. The other semi-final is an all-American affair between Fritz and Tiafoe.
I’ve enjoyed this tournament. First time I’ve really watched tennis, usually it would just be a big match here and there.
In terms of this statistic
Even Nadal is not required. Federer and Novak alone have won in every year since 2003.
Federer: 2003-2010, 2012, 2017-2018
Djokovic: 2008, 2011-2016, 2018-2023
I reckon his record of 14 French Opens is going to be one of the hardest to beat in all of sports. In his first 10 years at the tournament, he only lost one match.
yeah practically unbeatable record and even more crazy considering his injury history.
up there with Gretzky's point total imo.

Söderling had to retire quite early after those golden years, he got glandular fever after a tournament and his immune system basically broke down for a few months and never recovered fully from that :(
