Called “Tribute of the Colonies”, the image depicts kneeling black people handing over produce like cocoa and sugarcane to their white masters – including to a young white woman on a throne representing the Netherlands.
Next to her, a young white man is seen giving a young black boy a book as he is presented by his subservient father, an image which painter Nicolaas van der Waay in 1896 said was meant to portray “civilisation”.

Unable to spread the democracy seed due to lack of libido, the male America continues his consideration of whether he should further sanction the ovulating Russia. A very unsuccessful strategy so far.
Legendary country.
Legendary country.
By Patriotism Go To PostOh no the US is concerned. Can't wait for more useless sanctions against Russiasurely some other country could do something
maybe even a coalition of sorts
Why are we openly anti-USA and seemingly concerned for Russia with regards to the latest ongoings in Ukraine?
Eh? Don't think its that at all.
I've been harping on the Ukraine stuff for years now. The US isn't going to fight every fight, everywhere anymore but the idea of that has led to a lot of partner nations and allies sitting on their hands far beyond what's sane or reasonable.
If the EU and enough of NATO aren't assertive enough regarding all of this in their neighborhood, then it's plainly just that.

By Frustrated_me Go To PostJust thought I would mention that the Russian sanctions have been working really well, if anything it's in Russia where sanctions seemingly have worked best.I don't think sanctions really inhibit significant military action anymore.... Being a jackass is cheaper than ever, funding is an afterthought, and there's way too many ways to destabilize a region.
You can deter conventional stuff only for so long before being short supplied starts to just straight up galvanize people.
Regarding Ukraine specifically, you'd think a civilian airliner getting shot down with 300 people on it would lead to things being taken a little more seriously.

NATO? more like NOTO.

Nah. Hasn't stopped them in Libya or Syria. Only turkey has smashed Russian assets in both of those theatres, meanwhile rest of nato were happy for both to fall into the hands of war criminal haftar (muh cheap oil and gas) or assad.
Bit fucking silly all around. Even then theres levels of cooperation and capitulation despite all the fukkery happening.

Fuck me the politicos are giving the civil service so much ammunition for whenever the attacks on permanent positions resume.

Lmao the former minister of defense is also charged now.
Rumors going around that this has also to do with the Syrian terrorists and their kids. Basically our current government refused to listen to our intelligent services, who concluded it was of a higher risk for denmark to not bring the (Danish born) kids back, that Syrian fighters brought to Syria from Denmark, than to just take them home.
With some twisted logic, our socalled socialist government claimed the kids to be traitors to Denmark and not welcome... Despite you know, many of them being really small kids as their parents made them go to Syria with them
And suddenly that report leaked to journalists... And then surprise, our government changed their mind

UK govt changing the rules so the DUP don't have to face a by-election whenever Jeffrey Donaldson takes an assembly seat. 👍
And this story from yesterday:
An official investigation into police handling of loyalist paramilitary activity in Northern Ireland that resulted in 19 murders has identified “collusive behaviours” and “significant concerns” about officers’ conduct.Cool that this makes no impact in the UK media/among politicians. Not a peep on either story from the shadow NI secretary.

She also criticised the RUC’s continued use of informants despite possessing intelligence that they were involved in serious criminality including murder.
“I am of the view that this illustrated a practice on the part of some RUC special branch officers to recruit, and continue to use, informants suspected of involvement in serious criminality, including murder, contrary to applicable RUC policy at the time.”
Her report comes as the Northern Ireland secretary, Brandon Lewis, edges closer to publishing a bill designed to give amnesty to police, army members and others involved in killings in Northern Ireland and elsewhere.
