What odds can you get on Trump still being President in 2028? Yesterday is the least rough I've seen him looking for a while.
By reilo Go To Post
@Fenderputty did he get away with it
Yeah he's gonna get out of all of it, though I have no idea how he will avoid the state fraud and defamation cases. My assumption is that he just won't comply while claiming he's king. What's NY gonna do? Arrest him?
By Hitch Go To PostWhat odds can you get on Trump still being President in 2028? Yesterday is the least rough I've seen him looking for a while.Donald? He will be dead.
Barron is next up cuz no one is gonna take Jr or Eric seriously
Watched this before the football started. It's fun to learn nothing.
What's that Tommy Lee Jones quote from Men in Black? A person is smart. People are dumb. Still accurate.
Talk shows like the Daly show don't help either, trying to make comedy/satire out of something when the opposition has never been joking nor are they embarrassed. It doesn't work, these people are not here to play games with you.

Trump back in power is going to be really, truly terrible for a lot of people. He has an actual transition this time, he will have people in place to carry out all the awful stuff he wants to do, unlike in 2016 when he didn't expect to win. There's no Rex Tillersons or former generals here to stop the truly outlandish requests. Really not trying to hear from Stewart.

What is interesting in the US is that it was only president. Dems won every senate seat they expected to win and the house is closer than you would expect given such a robust Trump win. At the state level there are probably arguments they even over performed. You have states where 250K+ people are basically voting trump and then all blue on the down ballot races.
I'm shocked that 15m votes just... went away. It sounds like an insane number. I thought it'd be close at least, even if the candidate was traditionally unpopular.
I guess all the dys really stayed home.
...
It's also funny that Mexico (which doesn't count as a developed nation ofc) went the complete opposite way of that horse chart, where the incumbent party won by a landslide, presidency, house and senate.
Our new President on paper* is also kinda the ideal template all these "liberal" countries wish they had. A Nobel prize winning climate scientist, self professed socialist, pro Palestinian Jew (in a 99% catholic country-- which has ofc spurred all sorts of globalist conspiracy theories). Oh, and she's a woman.
She's not all that of course, but someone running that platform on any other country would never win. We're the fun kind of backwards sometimes.

By Laboured Go To PostAnd the answer for why is easy, inflation. I can't remember prices rising so much in almost everything like in the past years. Bread went up by almost double the price here.
Most people are simple/stupid, they don't care about the reasons for inflation or if your country is actually doing better than most, they just know that when they are going to the supermarket everything is more expensive by quite a lot.
So in their head, things were better before because they got buy more and that's all that matters.
I really am leaning towards the "things were cheaper under Trump therefore..." reason for the swing.

there wasn't even shit to watch on TV except news updates about various ways that states/fed struggled to work together under new constraints. you didn't get a choice other than to be invested in 2020.

There's a lot of Instagram baddies that are happy though, a whole lot of shade going around. There's a growing section of black and Hispanic women that follow Candace Owens and agree with her about abortion, not even religious types. It's getting weird out here
By DY_nasty Go To Postthere was no covid trainwreck to scare people anymore lol. that's really it.Not once did Kamala hammer home the message how awful Trump was handling the pandemic. How thousands of people died because of his actions. And how his stimulus checks and tariffs contributed majorly to inflation.

By Dazenheimer Go To PostI blame the podcasts.
All the toxic alpha male, right wing gritting peices of shit with mics.
I think the dem leadership takes a lot of blame, but inflation and an ignorant voter base is a huge deal. Same with media, like you said. The right controls almost all media now. Sinclair news bought up all these local spots, national news is owned by billionaires and the internet is dominated by the likes of Joe Rogan.
I personally think 2028 is 100% gone unless Trump's tariffs and deportation plans sink the economy bad. Sprinkle in some Elon cutting programs people want / need and there's a chance. If not, we'll see Vance 2028 or Trump if figures out how to circumvent the constitution. Maybe a mifepristone ban nationwide would also help. Project 2025 people are already gearing up. Maybe they'll kill OT so I can take more profit on my jobs I run, while my trump voting union work force ponders why they're not taking home more money.
Bro if your electorate is ignorant then it's your duty as top of the ticket to convince them of the realities and how you can resolve it. Either that or find a way to blame the other fucking candidate no matter what it takes. Trump tapped into that and Kamala conceded the ground.
Y'all are too weird about shot diet when your opponent is Draymond trying to kick you in the teeth or clotheslining you on a layup.
