By RAThasReturned Go To PostWe…the Democrats are poor planners. I'm not being ageist or discriminating, and I say this as I am currently taking a mandatory 2 HOUR online course on workplace discrimination, but everyone knew this was coming. In November 2020 when the electoral count was confirmed it was a time for celebration. It was also the time when most of us non-Washington people thought, Biden is in his mid to late 70's…add a 4-term term, if he survives it…and he'll be on the other side of 80. Find a new, young, hip voice! Someone for the future! Hell it was time to do that toward the end of Obama's second term. Clearly that didn't happen with Hilary. Then Biden at the time was the best of the bunch to make the opponent across the aisle look even stupider than he was. And here we are in this mess now. All these years spent without building up the next generation. Highly frustrating.Biden wouldn't have been the "best" option in 2020 if the DNC hadn't spent the last 30 years only working with people in the same generation as the existing leadership in the 1990s. They done fucked this up before most people they are trying to get out and vote were even born.

Think it’s ruined anyway it’s a terrible narrative just zero leeway here they gotta pull a magic trick of a candidate.
Do they even know who they’re gonna run with? It can’t be Kamala cuz you might as well just forfei right now.
It’s gonna be Hillary isn’t it

When he leaves the teleprompter and just goes off script it's such a dramatic shift in pacing and tone.

It's gonna be Kamala and i think she can win.
It'll be kind of wild seeing a presidential candidate that isn't almost 80 and looks like they could die at any second.
Trump continuing to go back to Hannibal Lector in his speeches is so weird. Overall it was a pretty low energy speech.
By jjasper Go To PostWell yeah but for some reason no one seems to care which is also weird. Its funny when he does it but 'concerning' when Biden does it.

Hilary: stored some emails
America: "off with her head!"
NYT be like:
"We found these ten undecided voters and had them react to Trump's nomination speech"
"Reed is a 20-year-old trans person that uses they/them pronouns. They are worried about Trump's policies promising to kill trans people but like their stance on immigration."

This is AOC talking about Biden (you can skip to the parts in bold) and I definitely hadn't appreciated some of the legal technical hurdles here.

Moving on, number one is the legal viability. Number two, I don't think people understand what it takes in terms of running a presidential campaign. And I'm gonna say what a lot of these folks aren't saying. I'm just gonna say if that there is consensus among the people. Joe Biden to leave that Kamala, that they will support Kamala, Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken. And I'm going to say that, because if they're going to come out and say all their little things on background, off, off the record, but they're not going to be fully honest, I'm going to be honest for them.
I'm in these rooms. I see what they say in conversations. You a lot of them are not just interested in removing the president, they are interested in removing the whole ticket. Am I here to guarantee that that is what is going to happen, or that was, that is what will happen. I can't tell you that, because politics, as we all know, politics, is insane. Anyone who tells you 100% what's going to happen is lying to you or engaged in an enormous amount of hubris. I'm not here to tell you that if Joe Biden is a nominee, he's definitely going to win, but because I don't think if anybody is the nominee, we're definitely going to win. Okay, and I understand where we want to talk about hedging bets, but I do want you to know what gets on court, because if you think that's going to be an easy transition, I'm here to tell you that a huge amount of the donor class and a huge amount of these elites and a huge amount of these folks in these rooms that I see that are pushing for President Biden to not be the nominee, also are not interested in seeing the Vice President being the nominee. Will they win out on that? I don't know, but I am here to tell you, do not take that for granted. Do not take that it may make sense to you.
Well then who do these people want? Whitmer and Newsom?
Someone that can win? If the entire point of a good VP is that people are comfortable with a succession plan that meant the VP takes over, then Biden's age and gaffes wouldn't be as big of a concern. But clearly people aren't seeing past Biden and towards Kamala, so there's some truth to it that people are uncomfortable with the entire thing not just Joe.

I'm not concerned with the timing just yet, but I think everyone agrees at this point, the sooner the better.

Like, I get that her losing some white voters is a concern, but I think she can actually make better inroads with young voters, black voters, and Latino voters, all groups where Biden is currently hemorrhaging support.
Nobody knows who she is, dude. There's been zero spotlight or scrutiny on her. The moment that light starts shining bright she's done for. Polling this early on an "unknown" candidate is meaningless. It's Summer League numbers -- could mean something, probably doesn't mean anything.
How are you even getting Biden to endorse anyone but Kamala?
How are you realistically skipping her, without the optics being as horrible as they are? Are they going risk pissing off one of the most consistent voting blocks the Dems have, by calling her a DEI transplant and throwing her to the wolves?

Is this about winning an election or making democrats feel good about voting for their candidate wtf
This is America. You already know what time it is. If people were that serious about getting Trump out of here, it wouldn't matter who is running.
The various unions would automatically endorse whomever is next, rust belt folks wouldn't be rolling their eyes at coastal elites, old people wouldn't cause issues, and white men and women wouldn't be on that bullshit. Trump can't even string together a sentence and they are locked in. It doesn't matter if they despise him or not. Man is literally falling asleep in conferences, and nothing. That is not the case for the dems.
I'm not saying this is going to be the election where black folks finally throw their hands up, but are we pretending that that type of shit would not in fact piss off parts of a whole demographic? The CBC, Black women, etc...
Parts of the democratic base, still loves this man. Biden's cosign isn't going to matter, all of a sudden? How much further does faith in the party erode, if he's on that type of time? All of this stuff is linked.
I don't know if she can do it or not, but until I see an actual plan, I definitely don't see skipping her as some free answer that automatically makes the situation better. Especially not when Republicans can pull a Bush 2.0.

the first group that was convinced they wanted no part of kamala were the democrats voters. they've had another several years of being completely disinterested in anything she's had to say
which is also completely warranted because she's a garbage human too ijs

We got Trump and MAGA because we dared to elect a black man
If we were to elect Kamala, what follows her is the USA making Nazi Germany look like Switzerland

Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the former speaker, recently told her colleagues in the California delegation that if President Biden were to end his campaign she would favor the “competitive” process of an open primary rather than an anointment of Vice President Kamala Harris as the new Democratic presidential nominee.ijs even Pelosi is like "nah we gotta Squid Game this"
