it's soo Joever.
just go and enjoy your last years on earth dude.
you were not sent by god to lead the free world.
you were a safe, inoffensive choice to defeat Trump and now you can fuck off.

Optimistic if it happens. Lots of potential to really re-energize this entire thing on the Dem side.

Kamala was at one point the favorite going into the election
Please, please remember how she crashed out so hard that it led to one of the most crowded primary pools in years - and how THAT bullshit is what made us dig up Biden in the first place 😐

She had one prominent line in a debate and then Howard Dean'd out of there.
She was a bad VP pick, too. It's partly why we are in this mess. Nobody would be panicking about Biden's age as much if they saw a good VP behind him that everyone would be like "I wouldn't mind them being POTUS if he croaks in office" -- WHICH IS THE ENTIRE FUCKING POINT.

The time line since 2016 is so depressing.
• Don't take Trump seriously.
• Gamble on Hilary and are humbled.
• Go back to the Obama well and resurrect Biden.
• Allow Biden to decompose while in office.
• One month out from the convention and they likely don't have a nominee.
You would like to think lessons would be learned here at some point but there's just no evidence of that happening.
How much time do they need to print the vote by mail and mail in ballots anyway? I just got my confirmation email.

To be fair she crashed out because she didn't have a lane.
She wasn't progressive enough to get past Bernie and Warren. So she kind of tried to take the centrist bloc that Joe had a stranglehold on by going directly at him and things ended awkwardly as a result. If we went back in time and ran it again without Joe, I think she'd have managed to win that bloc, but I'm not sure if she would have beaten Bernie. Things would have been interesting.
When the democratic party goes 100% behind a candidate like Hillary and Joe it's hard to do much of anything about it unless you're an Obama level candidate.
Yeah. And fwiw it will be Harris that takes over and people will need to make peace with that. I still think she has a better chance than Biden does as of now. Like, you can't assume he won't deteriorate even further by November.
I'll keep repeating myself til death: She's gonna lose white women 60-40 and stands no chance because of that.

You lost Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer. You're cooked, dude.
Masterful gambit for them to wait until 4 months before the election

that's fine
It's a mask off vote is what matters to me. Like, you gonna end up stumbling over your words as to how you landed on Trump as a legitimate "independent" over Kamala.
If Biden is on the ticket, you get the easy way out by just saying dude couldn't do the job because he's a zombie.

Let me put it this way:
2020: White Women went 55-44 for Trump (32% of the total vote)
2016: White Women went 52-43 for Trump (37% of the total vote)
In a close election, a shift from 55 -> 60 of over 1/3 of the vote is how you lose big.

Trump over-performed with minority males in 2020 too… if the Dems manage to get those back and do comparably with white women as in 2020 that should be enough. Why is she going to lose white women exactly?
There's no road for anyone to guarantee a close bout, let alone win on an emergency campaign four months out, while the party is in disarray and still debating if it's correct to wheel around a corpse who can barely put two thoughts together, after a tail end of a presidency marred with poor decisions, local and global conflicts and Trump getting pity points for almost being murdered by one of his fans.
Kamala losing white women is almost immaterial to the fact that it's panic stations to just have someone, anyone, who can challenge the lies and threats posed by the republican party, and at least keep messaging consistent not only of what the administration has accomplished, but what is absolutely necessary to address in the upcoming cycle.
Like, it hardly feels the key to bring back an advantage in the swing states.

I mean obviously we're fucked if it happens and it's not fine in that sense.
I'm just saying that sometimes how you lose matters. Like if it required the perfect young white male democrat to beat a candidate as bad as Trump then we're either working against too much of a handicap or we just have to admit that this is who we are as a country.
Black men accounted for 4% of the vote in 2020. If anything, they might move further to Trump.
And why is she going to lose to white women exactly? Boy, that's a loaded question that's gotta be experienced.

It's gonna be something when the most lucid we've seen grandpa Joe in the past few months is gonna be him reading a message about HIS decision to step down from the election.

We...the Democrats are poor planners. I'm not being ageist or discriminating, and I say this as I am currently taking a mandatory 2 HOUR online course on workplace discrimination, but everyone knew this was coming. In November 2020 when the electoral count was confirmed it was a time for celebration. It was also the time when most of us non-Washington people thought, Biden is in his mid to late 70's...add a 4-term term, if he survives it...and he'll be on the other side of 80. Find a new, young, hip voice! Someone for the future! Hell it was time to do that toward the end of Obama's second term. Clearly that didn't happen with Hilary. Then Biden at the time was the best of the bunch to make the opponent across the aisle look even stupider than he was. And here we are in this mess now. All these years spent without building up the next generation. Highly frustrating.
