Morning, lads. Are the Conservatives back yet?
By FortuneFaded Go To PostRees-Mogg loses his seat. Get fucked cunt.Add Liz to the list.
17 seats to call. Tories need 16 of them to match the exit poll. Labour need one.
Just a catastrophic loss for them. It isn’t enough - it is extraordinarily concerning that the largest vote share coalition is arguably the right wing now - but god it’s good to see them so thoroughly humiliated.

Rees Mogg is possibly the least relatable person I've ever heard, even by politician standards he sticks out. He's like an android that's been kicked through Eton.
Looks like pretty bad news for everyone except Scotland, who finally get rid of the atrocious SNP.
Useless twats Labour couldn't even wipe out the Tories properly even with Reform eating their right wing vote. Pretty good chance in 5 years time we'll just swap straight back to the same old cunts. Best hope I see from this position is that Labour aren't completely terrible and we get a properly hung parliament that leads to the end of FPTP, and then we don't have to put up with these 2 in power again

Would hope Labour are introspective about the vote share, and instead of appeasing the Reform/Tory voters look to win over the 19% that backed Lib Dem/Green. Shift to the left, pls. Pls. Pls.
The Muslim vote being so heavily in favour of independent candidates is really something, too. A large part of the electorate feels that no party is for them - and, unlike demoralised voters who choose not to participate, choose to back a different horse.

There was no reality where tories get "wipped out".a party that size with multiple hands in the media institutions don't extinct overnight even with reform eating their lunch.
Thing people forget is that the UK has always been a right wing that flirts with the left every now and then. It has taken a litany of economic, geopolitical black Swan events coupled with countless scandals and a marked downturn in living standards for the public to turn on the tories. Starmer will be the 7th labour PM and whilst we er had 5 tory pms in the last 8 years?
As for reform? Classic kneejerk populist protest vote party, like a ukip. Yeah, keep an eye on them but not too worried.

As of last night they were trying to claim that they had been tactically very clever about their campaigning, and that has continued this morning.

Post-war, Attlee and Wilson won 4 contests for Labour to 3 for the Tories. Heath and Wilson then had 1 victory each, before Thatcher brought 4 straight victories. This was followed by 3 for Blair. The Tories then took the reigns again, but with only 2 victories, their first gov was a LibDem coalition and May had to rule as a minority government.
And now it's back to Labour.
Hardly seems that one sided.

Muslims starting to realise whoever they vote for, their lives are seen as worth less than a dog's, in alignment with the rest of Europe.
By Laboured Go To PostBritish voters saying they preferred it when the immigrants were white with their whole chest. Not sure what's good about propping up bottom tier universities and delivery services with low-skilled immigration, but gives a pretty easy target for Labour nonetheless. They don't even need to be "anti-immigration" to heavily cut current numbers and leave tories and reform fighting for scraps.
I doubt Starmer would go for it but I don't know what answer the right wing parties would have for a Labour that introduced something like a "points-system" and brought net figures down sharply.
I don't like Starmer too much. He says a lot of disappointing or outright shit things.
We don't need to enter bitch eating crackers territory already.

Reading up on this George Galloway bloke… what in the world. An actual tankie who won a seat in parliament.
Motherfucker what?
Why are they doing this? Why? He hasn't done a single interview with a network or paper for the last four years. He's the only president in history to do that. Why stop now?! Jesus Christ, this is fucking insane.
its funny because i remember during the campaign that biden had every intention of being a one term president

That was the plan, originally, iirc. I guess ego and arrogance got in the way of finding a replacement (or setting up the VP for success)...
The media environment being this hostile and overt in its intentions is a sight to behold. It was bad before, but they have truly outdone themselves.

I think it was really just indicative of the complacency and hubris of the entire admin
Pretty sure it made the rounds prior to the VP pick as well but fizzled out when Kamala didn't brings the yas queen pop they imagined

Some of you may suffer, but it's a price Biden is willing to pay.
Truth is, if he drops at this point, Dems 100% lose. Perceptions just work like that.
This is just the culmination of the Jurassic establishment of the Democratic party (and american politics in general) where these geriatric fucks form a line that takes 5 decades to traverse because it's such a comfortable life no one wants to give it up, and some 50 year old baby hasn't done enough time to even be considered for the top spots. Chief justices and senators are dying of old age in the job ffs, Biden might do too if by some miracle he wins.
It's the rot of the empire.

Real lesson here is age limits and term limits but we can't even keep a notorious sex offender/felon outta the running so whatever.

Wonder what the political landscape will look like in the UK by the time of the next general election. Not entirely sure Reform will be a going concern by then, but if they're not they'll have likely been replaced by the same thing with a different name. Don't know which to expect though between Farage leaving as they implode in their own toxicity, or them fucking him off as he proves to be too poisonous even for them.
Probably being optimistic, and it's largely dependent on both Labour proving to be better than a shambles and the Tories sorting themselves out, but I think a party based entirely on racism and hatred will have a short shelf life now that they've played their part in the Conservative downfall. Think there'll be another party with the same policies, a more thorough doctrine and a thicker veneer of legitimacy that their supporters will jump to if it comes to that.
Christ knows what state Labour and the Conservatives will be in by 2026 even. Maybe the country is in too poor a state to even start to be fixed by then, maybe Labour will be too incompetent or unwilling to do it, maybe the Tories will still be carrying the stench of their current guise, maybe they'll have rapidly come together and become viable opposition.
