American politics is so fucked up I just might fuck around and run for some type of office.
But I'd need to pick a party first...so never mind, I'd rather stick needles in my nuts.

There only really seems to be about 5-6 viable candidates. Election is June 26th with advance voting starting in about two weeks. I'll almost certainly be voting for Olivia Chow.
As long as ex-cop, conservative candidate, Mark Saunders doesn't win it should turn out okay. Not really sure what that dude's problem is he keeps ranting and raving about bike lanes.

Lawmakers in the Texas House voted on Saturday to impeach Ken Paxton, the state’s Republican attorney general, temporarily removing him from office over charges that he had used his elected position to benefit himself and a campaign donor.Shocking, really
The extraordinary vote, which came after several hours of debate, was one of the few ever taken in the Texas Capitol and the first impeachment of a statewide office holder since 1917. It comes after a bipartisan House committee, led by Republicans, filed 20 articles of impeachment against Mr. Paxton this week, detailing actions that the panel unanimously had decided made him unfit for office.
The impeachment means Mr. Paxton will be temporarily removed from office pending a trial in the State Senate, where some of his closest allies, including his wife, will serve as jurors.Oh, I see

But they created him. They thought by encouraging him, they could copy the blueprint for all future elections.
Then elections happened and every trump wannabe got washed and now they want to move on.
Then elections happened and every trump wannabe got washed and now they want to move on.
I thought we went over how DNC boosted Trump from meme contestant to heel in the early GOP debates because they thought it was safer to run against him than Cruz. And how it was a conscious choice to 'heal' and run primetime coverage on the guy when it would've been to easy to just refuse to highlight him at all after impeachment.
And instead of letting the GOP organically eat itself again, they're rushing the Desantis trainwreck before primaries even start. Giving donors and the Mitts and the Lindseys all the space and range of motion necessary to do the mental gymnastics needed to #runitback
All this while acting like Joe will be just fine until 2028.

The prices of oil, transportation, food ingredients and other raw materials have fallen in recent months as the shocks stemming from the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have faded. Yet many big businesses have continued raising prices at a rapid clip.
Some of the world’s biggest companies have said they do not plan to change course and will continue increasing prices or keep them at elevated levels for the foreseeable future.
That strategy has cushioned corporate profits. And it could keep inflation robust, contributing to the very pressures used to justify surging prices.
“Companies are not just maintaining margins, not just passing on cost increases, they have used it as a cover to expand margins,” Albert Edwards, a global strategist at Société Générale, said, referring to profit margins, a measure of how much businesses earn from every dollar of sales.
The bags of Doritos, cartons of Tropicana orange juice and bottles of Gatorade drinks sold by PepsiCo are now substantially pricier. Customers have grumbled, but they have largely kept buying. Shareholders have cheered. PepsiCo declined to comment.
PepsiCo is not alone in continuing to raise prices. Other companies that sell consumer goods have also done well.
The average company in the S&P 500 stock index increased its net profit margin from the end of last year, according to FactSet, a data and research firm, countering the expectations of Wall Street analysts that profit margins would decline slightly. And while margins are below their peak in 2021, analysts are forecasting that they will keep expanding in the second half of the year.Federal Reserve: you see, the problems are that employment and wages are too good

But a wealthy nonprofit health system in the Midwest is among those taking things a step further: withholding care from patients who have unpaid medical bills.https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/01/business/allina-health-hospital-debt.html
Allina Health System, which runs more than 100 hospitals and clinics in Minnesota and Wisconsin and brings in $4 billion a year in revenue, sometimes rejects patients who are deep in debt, according to internal documents and interviews with doctors, nurses and patients.
Although Allina’s hospitals will treat anyone in emergency rooms, other services can be cut off for indebted patients, including children and those with chronic illnesses like diabetes and depression. Patients aren’t allowed back until they pay off their debt entirely.
