That antiwork mod just fucked the entire community. I enjoyed reading the sub Reddit as there were some genuinely good discussions about the exploitation of a workers labour.
That interview is a car crash and fed into the narrative that everyone there was a workshy layabout who wanted payment for nothing. It did all of Fox's work for them. The mods made the sub private to stop non members from laying into them. But really it's the current members there that are the most scathing if the interview.
From what I've read on Reddit subsequently, the bigger issue seems to be that the mods were holdovers from a previous iteration of the sub Reddit which actually was anti work. Like abolish the concepts of jobs etc. But labour reform became Nd greater rights for workers far more popular a subject matter and one which was resented by the mods perhaps? It's a fucken mess anyway.

Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, the committee’s third member, was the only one who opposed the vote to table the amendment and prevent it from reaching the full board. But even Mandelman had concerns, including that the amendment would have supervisors sacrifice too much of their authority over housing projects.
Breed has tried to advance housing-related charter amendments twice before. The first time was in 2019, when she proposed an amendment to streamline affordable housing for teachers, but it was shot down in committee.https://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/Mayor-Breed-s-push-to-streamline-housing-16807641.php
Just build more housing they said
By DY_nasty Go To Postpls tell me yal saw that anti-work reddit mod pour jelly on himselfI didn’t even watch but I’ve been following the meltdown on Reddit.
Why someone decided with no media training to go on Fox News is sad. Shows you just how naive some people are.
Even if this mod didn’t shoot themselves in both feet, Fox would’ve ate this person alive. You think they genuinely wanted to know why people are tired of work? The same network that says no one wants to work anymore cuz we’re lazy?
If I didn’t know any better I’d think this person got paid to make the whole movement look bad. When people think of the movement they’re gonna think of this clown
Apparently another mod on that sub Reddit has done 4 other interviews before the Fox News one. One for the NYT, a German publication, a Japanese one and an online news company. None of these have been released yet, but you can imagine that they'll probably be just as disastrous as yesterday's.
Seems the mods were on a massive ego trip and thought themselves ringleaders of a movement.

nuked an entire community
It's probably for the better. I think R\WorkReform is the front runner for the migration which is a better title for the movement.
A lot of similarities between antiwork and defund the police

Election day in Portugal, it's looking like the far right will become the third biggest party...
Far left took quite a drop, going from 3rd to 5th.
PS continues in front and could even achieve the absolute majority.

Politicians, meanwhile, are obsessed with the media and little else. “People just don’t understand the extent to which they are dominated by what’s going to appear on TV tonight what’s going to appear in the papers tomorrow,” he says. Johnson is an example of a man who governs — or performs — for the media. In Cummings’s telling, he is an imbecile. “In January 2020,” Cummings says, “I was sitting in No. 10 with Boris and the complete fuckwit is just babbling on about: ‘Will Big Ben bong for Brexit on the 31st of January?’ He goes on and on about this day after day. Eventually I say to him: ‘Who cares? What are you talking about? Why are you babbling on about Big Ben? It’s completely ludicrous. We won the election a few weeks ago. We have an eighty-seat majority. You are literally only in this study because for six months we actually had a plan that focused on the country, not on the stupid media. And that’s why we won, despite all the pundits saying we are idiots, we didn’t know what we are doing. Now we have proved them wrong, we have an eighty-seat majority, we don’t have to worry about their babbling.’” He looks aghast: “‘Why the fuck are we sitting around having these meetings about what will the Sun do tomorrow about Big Ben?’”

Cummings is just so toady. His retelling of everything to make himself seem like the only intellectual in the room is about as basic as you can get

rip ukraine rip russia
I'm going to offer a take...it's all a mind game. Putin is bored and he's riling up the rest of the world. He's playing chicken and looking to see if trigger happy country takes the bait. He knows the more realistic he makes this all look, the worse the economies of other countries. Even Ukraine's president has asked that the US, Biden, and our press stop the faux panic because it's constantly hurting Ukraine's economy and markets. Likewise, it's been hurting large chunks of the American economy too.
I think Germany sending helmets is them not falling for the bait. I think Putin is being coy and playing games. He knows all too well what's at risk and while he can't risk a full on war...he's still a little child looking to poke the bears any way he can, so he's resorted to mind games. Weeks or months from now he will offer up some kind of bullshit compromise that benefits him and Russia, and 'stand down'.
Ukraine has been fighting for years already.
This isn't a prelude to something starting.... That happened two administrations ago. The US already did the stationthousandsinGermany as a deterrent and Germany and France both made it clear they wanted no part. The optics on it are clear as its a fight you don't even hear about from large networks.
What's going on now is Russia openly asking if anyone will give a fuck if they decide to formally kick down the door and start putting up new flags.
Pretty obvious that no one does.

Germany wont do shit as they need the Nat Gas after shutting down their nuclear plants due to environmentalists. So now they have to use more fossil fuels than ever before. Which in itself is hilarious same goes for the rest of Europe needing Russian energy. The fact that pipeline bypasses Ukraine should be sign enough that Europe wants no part of this conflict. US should just acquiesce and not allow NATO on Russia's doorstep at least for another 10-15 years.

I'm more shocked its taken this long and that there's even been a courtesy call tbh
PS (center left) achieved the absolute majority in Portugal, 116 or 117 seats (out of 230) in the Parliament. Only the second time they achieved an absolute majority in the history of the party. It was a shock result as much all projections from the last two weeks had PS and PSD (center right) very close with PSD even gaining the lead at times.
The worst news of the night was Chega, the far right party, whose leader is very friendly with Le Pen, hates gipsys and believes in the tradicional family model is now the 3rd political party of the country but at least they won't be able to do much.

By Burt The Samurai Go To Postlast time they had the majority of seats, they bankrupt the country.
great times ahead.
Yeah man everyone knows the financial crisis in 2007-2008 was actually provoked by 2005s Portuguese elected government. It just makes perfect sense.
Was laughing my ass off at the results yesterday, Portuguese news media has become more and more sensationalist, and they got people believing it was neck and neck and the right oh the right *cues ominous music* they here, people are actually racist oh noes, let’s start this countdown *cues metal gear solid music*
Fuck outta here. Can’t wait for the election fraud takes, bunch of morons.

tilts me when people think shit just got real the last few weeks. Tilts me even more when they pretend the EU is some great moral progressive bastion of the world.

Little of the Paycheck Protection Program’s $800 Billion Protected Paycheckshttps://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/01/business/paycheck-protection-program-costs.html
Only about a quarter of the funding went to jobs that would have been lost, new research found. A big chunk lined bosses’ pockets.
It's almost as-if that by design and worked as intended.
