And by the lord, I think it was a thread title.... perhaps composed by the lord? We'll never know
[edit: original title referenced a "lord" figure demanding a new thread, supposedly.... but titles evolve]
The person presently in the cover photo is a guy named Olaf. I don't know a thing about the guy, but just surprised Germany decided to name their current chancellor after a snowman.
Which you can actually build, sy.

At some point maybe people will realize being reactionary to shitbirds all of the time isn't a position either and just nets douchebags more attention.

By Lunatic Go To PostJoe Rogan really won. Though he isn't considered news sooo yea
Neither are the Fox / cnn /msnbc opinion shows
Kind of a silly comparison it’s a podcast vs cable news programs. What are comparable political podcasts like Rogan?
Also Rogan is 2-4 times a week, the other shows are nightly

It doesn’t need to be a perfect comparison. He has crazy influence each show. I’m willing to bet the podcast demo is younger too. The fox demo is busy getting old
I really wouldn't compare them at all. Joe isn't a news guy. If outlets are competing with him their priorities are mixed up - but that's kind of a given.

Ticker and Laura aren’t news man
if you're measuring 'political/social' influence in all of its grand vagueness and only pull from Joe Rogan out of everything out there to measure against dedicated news media talking head slots then like.... it's pretty much as scuffed as it sounds
By blackace Go To PostIt's not a perfect comparison, but 11 million per show even 3 times a week shits all over a week of Tucker Carlson by pure numbers. The raw numbers are impressive yeah but without context I don’t really see the value here or how it translates to “influence. Joe Rogan episodes are. more easily accessible being on Spotify compared to cable + can be listened to at any time of day. Cable on the other hand is expensive and to watch Tucker Carlson’s show requires the viewer to be at the TV in a specific time. I think it’s an apples and oranges comparison.

I don't really know how dedicated his listeners are. He more just a dude with bad opinions that give millions of people with bad opinions a safe place to be dick heads rather than a network with an agenda, but I can see how the comparison would make sense for some.

I suppose that’s my point. Maybe it’s more topic focused but COVID has been a Fox talking point and same with Joe. Do you think joe or Tucker has had a greater impact on horse dewormer use. Fucking Rogan basically let the world see him use alternative I’ve medicines. He ventures into those spaces enough. And I mean when you consider the broader scope of actual political podcasts, Facebook memes etc, the internet is king
Joe wouldn't have been validated on his dusty weed head takes show if CNN didn't get themselves sued by him and have to send someone to his show to cop pleas after the fact lol
A news program shouldn't be trying to compete with something that isn't. These lines wouldn't blur in the first place if major outlets didn't treat news coverage like ESPN. And if there's a trust issue where other media sources are trusted more, then that's not on the individual to rebuild that trust or reengage. Its also just plain apples to oranges. You don't measure Cuomo against the best selling musician of that year nor do you compare a round table special against a whatever is trending worldwide at the same hour.
This is trying to smash a square peg into a circle shape.

Not sure yet. Sticking to somewhere within Queens or Brooklyn -- somewhere short enough of a drive to Flushing.

So about that cable news poisoning the populace
Heh...I know this dude. Just interviewed my brother. Didn't know he was Twitter-quoting worthy
On another note, it's hilarious that the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for January 6 have faced harsher consequences than Senema and Manchin within the democrats smh

I saw an old video yesterday of a judge threatening to fight a public defender during a hearing, then actually fighting him in the hallway, then coming back to applause from all the defendants waiting in line for their case to be heard lmao.

The issue is thinking Iraq or brown lives matter at all.
Think of all the white kids who don’t get to learn that slavery never existed and it was a mutual agreement between two parties.
