By Laboured Go To PostI’ve done 105 in Toronto before with high humidity and no AC. Nam flashbacks.Unless you mean another Toronto, I don’t think I’ve ever seen temperatures here of 100, never mind 105.
By Kabro Go To PostBut Slant said dry heat is ez pz.
This past week we experienced 100+ heat plus 99% humidity.
It’s be awful man. I had to walk a mile to get my car from the shop and it feel like I was going to die

Anyone meditate here? I used to yoga and meditate often in the past but let it go for unknown reasons in these past few years. I find myself back at a point where I need to tap back into breathing and meditating, the two things that really work for me to control my stress levels.
I recommend this as a starter for anyone that's at all interested in this stuff: https://insighttimer.com/meditation-courses/course_learn-how-to-meditate-in-seven-days

I meditate on the day for a little bit every night before bed. Review what went well that day, what didn't go well, think about the blessings myself and those around me received and what they still need, think a bit about what others in the world are experiencing, and what I can do to make tomorrow a better day than today. It's basically the one time a day I try to shut out all distractions for a few minutes.
Although you may be talking about a different kind of meditation...

Anything that gets you into your parasympathetic nervous system is meditation tbh so good on both of you to practice it (because both probably will).

For me, at least, the routine evolved out of prayer. I grew up Catholic and had my nightly prayers that my mom made sure I always said. After I graduated college and started working, I listened to an NPR show that mentioned that people that have daily conversations with themselves tend to be happier and more successful at self-improvement. As I was mildly depressed at the time, I took that to heart and realized that my nightly prayers were already pretty close to being a conversation. So, I changed my nightly routine from repeating strict prayers to having a conversation with God and myself.
It absolutely helps me wind down and unpack. I honestly think this is more what prayer should be like, in general. A time to meditate and become a better person through it. Not just reciting words and phrases.

Lemme know when you work out how to do that.
Protip: If you're anxious all the time you won't have to deal with those occasional moments where the anxiety takes over and you don't know what to do and just want to die. You'll be like that all the time so it won't feel any different.

Started following this guy on TikTok that's an outreach worker in Baltimore. He purposefully doesn't film people just the locations and abandoned buildings and doesn't disclose the exact location.
Shit doesn't even look like The Wire anymore. Looks like the fucking Last of Us

Baltimore look bombed out and depleted. Worst roads I have ever been on too.

Once again bamboozled by YUL and Air Canada telling me that there are major delays at the airport, only to find I’m through bag drop and security in about 20 minutes. At least they sell the good Sour Patch Kids in Canada
By Perfect Blue Go To PostOur airports and airlines are so badBetter than NY at least. For such a huge city, such a trash set of airports. In fact, I haven't been into a good US airport

Maybe if you are a illuminati nazi lizard person.
Minneapolis airport the only one I can say is truly nice.
The rest range from “ehh it doesn’t suck” like San Diego, to “god kill me” like Kansas City’s. KC airport is a damn disgrace. Restaurant selection is nonexistent. The bathrooms are tiny af and there are barely any in there past the gates. It’s old and shitty and the wifi is slow as fuck.

I actually thought LAX was ok but yeah most of the US ones are a hassle but hey it's an airport most of them suck.

The new Delta terminal at LaGuardia (I know) is supposed to be top notch but somehow despite flying Delta a bunch (including overseas) none of the flights I want are out of LaGuardia which makes no sense? If LGA was nice I'd prefer that because it would be far more convenient than being stuck on Van Wyck to JFK
We just flew Delta to Italy and Terminal C didn't offer any flights like that.
My family also flew in from Portland they were no direct flights to LGA. Makes no sense.

Well LGA is only domestic so any international flight is gonna be out of JFK
No idea why they don’t have Portland tho

What even makes a good/bad airport?
They just spent billions re-doing the airport here so I would hope it would be good.

For me a couple things that come to mind as annoyances
- good restaurants/bars
- an abundance of clean bathrooms
- fast wifi
- seats at the waiting gates with charging stations that actually work
- the type of security scanners where you don’t have to empty your bags
- how the airport is laid out. So in Cincy it’s far as all hell from the gate to baggage claim and the only option is to walk.
- if the rental car area is on-site vs having to go to a separate site
