By s y Go To PostJanuaryalready off to a terrible start
I had no idea Back 4 Blood looked and played that bad, it's a 2021 game looking worse than the 2008 L4D.
ya back 4 blood was garbage from the first beta. Dumb card shit, dumb slow ADS gameplay, fucking dopey loot system for ADHD players. Maps and special infected trash af.
I remember when they came with Evolved and were like "players loved the tank fights the most in L4D" and i was like were you lads smoking crack out of someone's asshole?

Gotta be doing well on GP ya. On steam it's not even top 100 active games whereas l4d2 is sitting with 22k concurrent players over a decade after release.
Yeah, Source is amazing, but nothing really uses it anymore. Even Apex Engine is probably its own thing by now.
I've never played God of War. Guess I might pick it up on steam and check it out finally. The PC version of Days Gone is quite good.
By s y Go To Postim fucking dying lmaaaaaaaoooooNo.
Is LA Noire good?
reinstalled Nioh2 and immediately resumed a boss fight against some monk dude. This game is so sick, love the tonfas.
I think I'll try and complete all the side missions, then continue into the end game new game+ stuff. Hard to remember all the items and systems.

It was quite long and I remember thinking the ending felt a bit weird but overall I thought it was cool.
But I will say that I didn't enjoy it enough to finish when I played the "remaster" of it on PS4.

I just bought Golf+ on Quest 2 and kind of surprised by how ass it looks, even for a Quest game. Pistol Whip and RE4 have spoiled me in that regard. It is fun though. Can play it like the 2d PGA Tour games (set your marker and swing but it's pre-determined pretty much) or it seems to have a pretty decent free-swinging mode.
Think when my credit for referring the lad Dean comes through I'll get that Table Tennis game everyone raves about.

The ending was one of the most pathetic attempts at being emotional a game has ever done, and there is quite a list.
But as long as you got to Dan Ryckert part
sensational acting
By s y Go To Postim fucking dying lmaaaaaaaoooooAny excuse to post the video of how to only play LA Noire - in VR
Is LA Noire good?
The farm level is actually kicking my arse in Ready or Not. Getting through the tunnels near the start ain’t so bad, but going through the houses is rough af
I liked LA Noire but the ending was trash, absolutely hated that
Shame the technology they've used back then is not the the pattern nowadays

I thought it looked a bit weird even at the time tbh. Maybe tech has come far enough that it wouldn't look like a mo-capped face sloppily glued to a mannequin, wonder if anyone will try it again.
As far as I know it was incredibly expensive.
As far as I know it was incredibly expensive.
Full body performance capture is so much better for that kind of style and level of budget. There's really no point anymore.
What really let the the facial animations down in LA Noire was the low resolution capture of faces, and the mismatch in facial and body performance.
Good game though, still replay it from time to time. If you have played and enjoyed it, it's one of the rare games I'd actually recommend watching a youtube video essay about. Good watch, good game.

Yeah LA Noire was alright, just got boring after a while. I did like reading articles about how accurate it was to the period, there was one where a guy played it with his dad who grew up in LA around that time. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-10-09-night-and-the-city
Playing Halo CE for the first time. Guilty Spark is an annoying pos, why would you name a studio after it?
By Yurtlicious Go To Postdata you tried Dusk yet ?I have. I didn’t play much of it, but it had a nice feel to the shooting and movement.
Playing RE4 VR has been....an experience to say the least. Once I get used to it I'm sure it'll be fine, but manually loading weapons during hectic situations can feel like a lot of juggling. I love it, but it's just a lot to come to grips with. Even little things like not being sure how many rounds are left in your gun...it's another immersive thing that you didn't have to really think about it with controller play.
Knowing how much VR visuals will improve with tech, and generally thinking the Oculus controllers are good enough for now, the thing that requires the most attention at this point should be locomotion. Even with a large basement, room scale started to get annoying. Inevitably the end game environments are too large, and you're going to run into real life boundaries that feel limiting. So one of the big devs (Valve, Meta, Sony, etc, not some kickstarter) needs to come up with way to convincingly walk and jog in place with the price for that peripheral ideally being sub 300 dollars.

listen I like Devil Survivor, but fuck me the combat is TOO slow
it's especially grating when it's obviously a wipe but you gotta sit through the whole map taking turns and healing each other for like 15 mins, because you can't reload or skip enemies turns in this game for some reason.
hopefully 2 is more...modern.

Oh, wow Ken Levine's new game is in development hell

Wonder if hell jump ship and leave everyone jobless again.
It has been nearly eight years since development began on Ken Levine’s next video game. Levine, the creator of the hugely influential BioShock series, is an auteur of the medium. He embodies everything that comes with the title, according to people who have worked for him: a singular brilliance, stubborn perfectionism and a delicate ego.
Eight years is a long time to develop a game. Levine’s breakout 1999 release, System Shock 2, was finished in a year and a half. BioShock—a seminal shooting game released in 2007 that, according to New York magazine, “proved games could be art”—took about five years, as did a follow-up, which came out in 2013. His current project, which began in 2014, still doesn’t have a name or a release date. Development has suffered from numerous reboots and changes in direction, say 15 current and former employees of Levine’s Westwood, Massachusetts-based studio, Ghost Story Games.
