By Lunatic Go To PostGuess I'm watching the Barbie movie👀
I know they've denied this, but surely there is going to be a slowed down acoustic cover of Barbie Girl in the film.
I went to an industry party with a friend once. She was still in film school at the time and wanted to meet some people there. I remember we met this movie critic, he was the kind snobbish douchebag you'd expect, and he was talking about a movie spearheading this "new wave" of mexican cinema. All of Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth and Babel made the festival rounds the same year and were getting awards and Oscar nods, and this guy had seen all three before they got a wide release in MX so there was a lot of buzz for them.
We were pretty excited to watch them so we asked his opinion on them and I remember he described Pan's Labyrinth as "good but juvenile and in your face", Children of Men as "a well shot but standard Hollywood production" but reassured us that Babel was a masterpiece that would be remembered for decades to come.
A couple of weeks later we went and watched all three and man, some people seriously need their fucking heads checked. I don't remember disliking anyone's opinion in retrospect as much as I did this guy's back then. I was honestly flabbergasted one would come to that conclusion.

Because it's a fairy tale I guess and doesn't deal with the real lives of human beans like masterpiece Babel does.
Dang, just minding my own business and walk straight into some Babel slander. Content warning would've been nice.
Good Sakamoto soundtrack if I recall.
Edit: it was the last of us guy. Bibo no Aozora was just featured.

By Xpike Go To Postsounds to me the guy just wanted to have opinions, like how sy does itI doubt the reviewer watched those films exclusively through reactions on his iphone - or most likely nokia flip phone as it would have been 2007.

So the next Bond probably won't release for at least three years from now. Probably for the best tbh. Let the franchise recover after Craig's departure.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostNo mention of Wong Kar Wai or Wim Wenders or Michael Mann makes me think whoever made this list is not true Kino watcher
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWes Anderson at the Ascended tier is too funny. Amazing image"Korean films" but then "Akira Kurosawa"
By Perfect Blue Go To Posti mean this kind of shows where we as a society are at regarding movies lol
One of my favorite films is Derek Jarman's Blue. Where do I fall on that scale?
If you don't know what that is it's this but for like an hour and half

saw spiderhead. miles is good, and it has a neat premise, but, ultimately, it lacks depth. and the last act is a bit of a downer.
still, it wasn't bad. i think it's (slightly) better than netflix's average content-output.
i was somehow reminded of ex machina. you know what? watch that instead.
6/10.

6/10 far too high after a promising start. I went 3/10. Forgettable, dull, and ultimately added no value to my life whatsoever. Hemsworth was fine.
i don't disagree. perhaps 5.5 would've been more apt.
hemsworth was... eh.
there are very few muscular dudes who are great actors.

The T-rex getting out of its pit when there's a gigantic cliff on its side has always kinda bugged me. HOW DID IT GET OUT? DID IT FLY?
