By s y Go To PostHollywood chinese being complete jibberish makes me appreaciate that Sunny episode more lmaothat doesn't surprise me at all. they seem to hire actors, for whatever language they need, that learned it one semester in college and put as being fluent on their résumé.
it is pretty funny when in a serious scene two people just talk gibberish to each other that vaguely resembles whatever language they're supposed to speak.

i notice this with characters that speak dutch as well.
it sounds like complete shit 99% of the time.
Watched Ida yesterday. Was pretty good, but a bit surprised it's rated highly. Nicely filmed and acted and all, but a bit dull at times too despite being so short. 3/5
this is when fast and furious brazil peaked
when all the supposed brazilians in the movie didn't speak a lick of brazilian portuguese. but the portuguese that plays all the mexican villains in american does.

Hope his other films have less over acting that shit took me out completely
Another Norwegian film on the menu today. That was... Surprisingly haunting at times. Can't say i expected to see the kind of things i saw, but it was great. Amazing acting by every kid in it, that casting must have taken some time.
The trailer doesn't quite do it justice, but a big recommendation from me.
Just... Don't have kids

I presume Mel Gibson’s character will be the one running the concentration camp from the first film.
That super abrupt cut in Dune where Gurney grabs Paul while he's having Spice trip is so amazing in hindsight.
Come and See and rough, damn. Sensational though. But after the last few films I've watched, I feel like cows should never agree to being in a film ever again. It's just going to end badly for them.
Belfast and Nightmare Alley out in UK cinemas this week.
Fairly amusing review of Belfast in the Times today from Max Hastings, criticising it for being overly sanitised, which was kinda my fear.

By Punished Go To PostBelfast and Nightmare Alley out in UK cinemas this week.Did they not show at least one person getting kneecapped? What about 'community activists' who control the sale drugs in their community, don't tell me they got rid of them too?

If i knew Zola was based on a twitter thread, i probably would have skipped it. Not completely terrible, but also a bit meh
I don't get it. September is too far away, they didn't have much competition on that time and the box office is doing alright.
Paramount's own Scream is doing quite well, already beat Scream 4's domestic run.

the whole director's approach was really good. I really liked that. But yeah the story was a bit meh

I kind of disliked the editing like it was on a phone when showing the time and so on. Or the random stops for a character to say something to the camera.

Snowpiercer. It was okay to pretty good, although certainly the weakest Bong Joon Ho film I've watched so far. But to be fair, Parasite and Memories of murder were both amazing, and I thought Okja was good too. Not bad for a first attempt at an English film. Need to watch Mother soon.
