By Kabro Go To PostYou want him to watch something worse?
almost anything is a 5/5 if you watch it directly after that trash
By WoodenLung Go To PostAfter a lot of peer pressure, I finally watched uncut gems. Adam Sandler bordered on being the terrible Adam Sandler we know and hate a few times, but mostly did well, cause the role was being an over the top idiot I guess. Had to google Kevin Garnett to confirm he was a real player, he was surprisingly good for someone who isnt actually an actor. Pretty good film, but Good Time better. All that text and the spoiler isn't about dat ass, tsk tsk.
I really really really enjoyed the part where adam sandler got shot in the head though
3.5/5

I already had that shown to me about 400 times before seeing the film.
It was nice. But very unrealistic Adam Sandler was eating that, no matter the money
Even in 2022 I have a lot of actors and actresses pegged in my brain to their 90s versions. Blame it on just watching so many of the same movies over and over on HBO/Showtime/TNT and the like or other cable/basic channels.
thoughts on the pirates of the caribbean movies?
first one was good, but i remember the second especially feeling like a big, fun adventure.
third one was a disappointment.
are the other two worth a watch?

The rest after the trilogy is not worth your time.
By bud Go To Postthoughts on the pirates of the caribbean movies? It's the only trilogy I never rewatched, the first two were super fun but that was back in 2003 and I guess I was easily impressed by anything.

I watched the 4th and I don't remember anything about it lmao
I loved the first three, and they were fun times at the cinema with the audience really into it. Jack Sparrow is iconic, lightning in a bottle as it were. They went back to that well one too many times it seems, but I was out after the third.
Gore Verbinsky delivered the spectacle. Hans Zimmer, what a man.

i wish it was, but it's sadly nowhere close to the toilet unless i gotta watch kino on the shitter.
Think the first three Pirates are largely fun. 2 and 3 are bloated as fuck but Verbinski knows how to direct an action sequence. They’re watchable enough.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostFirst Pirates is fun but holy fuck Orlando Bloom is so bad.I don't know what is, but after a decade or so, I think I've figured it out.
He's kinda bland sure but his voice hurts him.
He has a bad voice.
By Crusher Go To PostThe Northman already out there in valhalla distros. This didn't take long.
By WoodenLung Go To PostBoth good films, inshallahtruth, brother
There's a meme-like/hammy aspect to Walken which makes me kind of wary of that casting.
Villeneuve has earned the benefit of the doubt though.

Chicken Soup For the Soul Entertainment bought Redbox, if you were wondering
In an all-stock deal struck designed for the current high-inflation economic environment facing streaming consumers, Crackle parent Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment is acquiring Redbox.
The value of the deal is about $375 million, most of which is the assumption of Redbox debt.
Founded in the heyday of DVDs two decades ago, Redbox is best known for its network of 38,000 bright red, disk-dispensing kiosks at convenience and grocery stores. It has more recently expanded into streaming and production. It went public last fall in a $693 million SPAC merger with Seaport Global Acquisition Corp. The stock initially rose past $15 a share but has hit the rocks in recent months, dipping as low as $1.61. The company was forced to lay off 10% of its staff and said it was looking at strategic alternatives.

By data Go To PostYou know what's a good film that I just watched?Fuck yes, one of the all time greats.
More than 20 years in the making, Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis has set its star cast. Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones and Fast X), Jon Voight and Laurence Fishburne have been set for the main roles. Fishburne began his career with Coppola at the tender age of 14 in Apocalypse Now. Legend has it he was of legal age when the film got released. This sounds bad but who knows
Coppola is directing the independently-financed film from his own script. Here’s how he is describing the contemporary drama: The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius, and conflicting interests. The budget will be just under $100 million, and production begins this fall. Distribution rights are being brokered by attorney Barry Hirsch.

It's fine. Don't think these humourless A24 films are for me.
By Laboured Go To Post@MartinsRight up my alley. Host was a terrific little movie so I was always going to check what Rob Savage would do next and this looks like it will be a great time.
By data Go To PostFound footage gets me every time, i can't even lieYeah, I really like the genre, can be so effective.
Speaking of found footage, I watched the first BTS video from Chris Stuckmann's first movie since I backed the project on Kickstarter. It's really cool to see him get his chance and it's nice to see them preparing the shoot.
Hoping it turns out well.
By Not Go To PostI don't like this.
