I'm honestly just so excited we're probably going to get to see whatever this is:
“I can’t tell you the details, but all I can say is that when I turned in the script for 2, the studio gave me three pages of notes. And when I turned in the script for 3, they gave me a page of notes, so I was getting better. When I turned in the script for 4, the studio executive, creative executive over the films wrote me an email that said, ‘Holy fuck.’ And I said, ‘Well, where are the notes?’ And she said, ‘Those are the notes.’ Because it kind of goes nuts in a good way, right?”
thx for the RRR tip n8, would not have picked it up otherwise.
Fantastic, bombastic, grandioso "hero worshipping" action drama. The way only Bollywood can do, loved it, despite not to good cgi at times.

Speaking of, Puss in Boots the Last WIsh is supposedly the best western animated movie since Spiderverse.
If it's anywhere close that's quite a feat. Haven't enjoyed something like Spider-Verse in its category in a long while.
By reilo Go To PostFinally got around to seeing Into Spider-Verse. That was proper.
Best superhero movie of the decade and it isn’t even close

Edit: yeah more of a theroux
Sandler would have been great.
Speaking of QT, I just saw Apocalypto was on Prime and remembered Tarantino said it was a masterpiece. Looked it up and Robert Duvall and Edward James Olmos also both said it was the best film they’ve seen in 25 years.
One of the more underrated films of the 21st century imho

I caught Nope now that it's finally streaming and I didn't really care for it. It's by far Peele's weakest film: it seems like it's trying to be two different movies at the same time, doesn't nail either, and results in an uneven film with weird, inconsistent tonal shifts. The big reveal and the last act didn't land for me at all and I found them just so wildly goofy that they seemed like they should be in a different film entirely.
Watched Pickpocket, Procès de Jeanne Darc and Au Hasard Balthazar in recent days. Have to say that A Man Escaped strikes me as Bresson's only masterpiece.
See as well, Bresson tried it on with the main actress in Balthazar. Him mid-sixties and her about eighteen or less. 🤔

Technically well made, but the third act doesn't flow properly. The tension rises and falls and rises and falls unnaturally. Good acting and he continues to use colors creatively.

Big Jim folds the universe to his will
He's a shonen protagonist
Sell Disney stock after the movie isn't frontloaded in the first three days like Ant-Man and Rogue One because I am truly a small small trembling speck scurrying in the shadow of a giant with a 0% miss rate
jim’s doing it again. can’t believe i ever doubted him.
lad.
what a filmmaker.

You should check out Long Day’s Journey Into Night (2018). There’s a sensational 45 minute long crane shot.
Rewatched the Irishman after not seeing it since 2019
My god that final hour is just heartbreaking and brilliantly directed by Scorsese

This Place Rules was good. The montage in the Alex Jones segment was amazing. Sheer comedy if he wasn't such an awful cunt of a person.
what sin were you trying to repent for here, brother?
