By n8 dogg Go To PostWas king Rylance fun at least
he was kind of the one redeeming thing about the film.
Banshees of Inisherin was really good. Farrell and Gleeson gr8 again.
I should watch Three Billboards at some point. Just looks boring as fuck.

Halfway through Banshees and it's really good. I expected Farrel and Gleeson to be great but Kerry Condon & Keoghan have been equally impressive. The visuals and music have been a real treat as well.
also, didn't know the Ireland/IRA conflict went as far back as the 1920s, yeesh.

Great movie.
Really is.
Going to watch Banshees today i think
Farrell’s performance in Banshees is easily my favourite of the year, and his best ever.
Four really good - and really different - performances in the same year. After Yang, Batman, Thirteen Lives and this.

have to agree with most in here about banshees. very good film. one of my favourites of the year probably.
Watched Avatar 2
Was pretty, decent film but too long. I think it was 3 hours and 15 minutes. I fell asleep for 10 minutes during the middle period but it was so loud i woke up
but the movie was still decent regardless

Only grown in my mind since I saw it. Would be a-okay with it sweeping up awards ceremonies.
Seems like a good fuckin’ year for film. Lots of EEAAO, Tar, Banshees, RRR, Decision to Leave all around the place.
Time for Oscars to fuck it up and give best pic to Black Panther 2.

everything from 2022 ive seen ranked. after rewatching aftersun i am pretty sure it's not just recency bias, it is that good.
(the kingdom is semi cheating, it really is a limited series. but trier says it's 'a film' so whatever)
Aftersun I still need to see.
By Daz Go To PostIs decision to leave good?Yes. Probably the prettiest film I’ve seen this year.
i guess it didnt help i accidentally downloaded a dubbed version of it. but i dont think it would have made much of a difference in the end.

i am sorry you also watched texas chainsaw massacre. i knew it would be bad. but i didnt think that bad.
Whenever I think of the batman, I see the bit where his eyeliner is running down his face, and it makes me like the film less than I really did

of the twenty or so films I've seen from 2022 (probs add a few more this week), only five were above "decent" for me:
Banshees
Top Gun Maverick
The Northman
Everything Everywhere
And, er... Jackass 4.5.
The Batman easily the biggest letdown. The last hour was just... sleep. I sleep. I think I might have literally slept.

Yawn
It's based on a book, no?
That's probably better than a generic, award chasing, drama filled biopic. Can't be worse than his last couple movies, and Cillian looks like he's going for it.
