EEAAO was a cool film but I didn’t care for it as much as others seem to do. It was a neat idea with good execution but the humour didn’t really vibe with me and the story at the middle of it was clichèd Asian-American family tropes that were done better elsewhere.
Highlight of the film was how they managed to make so many nice effects with a fraction of the budget a lot of blockbuster films have, and look better while doing it.

It's a testament of how good EEAAO is that a scene between two rocks is probably one of the most emotional scenes in cinema this year.
Speaking of people who should be nominated (and I am probably alone in this), Zoe Kazan was fantastic in She Said.
Carey Mulligan was good in it and deserved her Golden Globe nomination as a supporting actress but Zoe was so much better.
Her reaction in the later moments of the movie was so good and moving, the way she starts crying after Laura Madden accepts to go on record feels so genuine that it moved me.Feels like I'm going to be championing She Said online for the next few months because it was a good movie that had an important story to tell powered by some great performances but very few people watched it.
Just watched She Said and I agree with Martins in that the performances were good. However, it felt like there wasn't much energy to the film and it probably was much more interesting in the book version. But it's an okay film, just unremarkable.
