Decision To Leave is out on Mubi today in the UK and Ireland, US, Canada, and probably some other countries. It’s so good pls watch it.
Ever seen a film so messy and infuriating that you can't stop thinking about it?

By Laboured Go To PostJust re-watched Rollerball. Classic.James Caan was pretty good in that one.
Watched Andrea Arnold's Cow on the iPlayer. Feel a bit sick now.
Reading the reviews on letterboxd reminds me how tedious that website is. The top reviews for any film are always lame memes or something that makes me think "do any of these fuckers actually have any interest or enjoyment of cinema?"

Warner Bros. reportedly canceled an unannounced Batman Beyond movie.First Batgirl and now this? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action Batman Beyond spin-off would’ve had Michael Keaton reprise his role as an elderly Bruce Wayne and might’ve even featured an appearance by Catwoman.I fully expect the same outrage as when Batgirl got cancelled
Wanted to watch some of Spielberg's films I haven't seen yet or haven't seen in a long time, here's a list in no order (lol Horse won't like this)
Always (which I have just finished, thoughts below)
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Empire of the Sun
1941
The Colour Purple
Hook
Amistad
The Terminal
War Horse
and ofc the Fabelmans which I will be watching soonish.
So thoughts on Always, I usually don't mind Spielberg's sentimental side as he's such a good director that it's easy to overlook this in some of his films, but Always was the worst aspects of his sentimental side brought to the forefront. Eye-rollingly bad dialogue and some terrible music choices with a weird lead performance from Dreyfuss (who I normally like, but he was the wrong actor for this).
Holly Hunter was superb, and she does a fine job with not much depth on the page. Goodman was pretty goodman too (lol)
Overall, I thought the film was a staggeringly bad misfire from Spielberg and one of his worst for sure.

Saw Casablanca there. Was the only person in the screen again.

Avatar 2 is finally here – and it’s like being waterboarded with turquoise cement
James Cameron’s decade-in-the-making The Way of Water has no plot, no stakes and atrocious dialogue. What happened to this great director?https://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/0/avatar-way-water-review-james-camerons-sequel-like-waterboarded/
These avatar 2 reviews are rough
