By n8 dogg Go To PostYou should watch Come and See. Incredible movie.
i have watched that last year. i thought that director was from belarus, but i guess not after googling.
but yeah, very fucking good.
really sucked to be an animal on a movie set back then
Finally watched the Beavis and Butt-Head movie. The new one. It was alright. The new show is definitely better though
I saw Next Exit last night which was decent. VHS99 and Barbarians were alright too.
Going to give Saloum a try tonight on a recommendation. A Senegalese action / horror thing.

horrible film.
in the same way threads is a horrible film.
imo, do not watch either of these films. not because they are bad. but because they will make you feel very bad.
Banshees grown on me over the course of the day. Very very funny for an hour or so and then very sad. It’s definitely McDonagh’s most grown up film. And Farrell is remarkable. Had a very good 2022, with Batman, Thirteen Lives and this. Three very different performances.
Just watched Boiling Point. Great stuff. I’m a sucker for kitchen intensity and one shot stuff. Very end is a bit cliched and unnecessary, but most of it is wonderful.

By Daz Go To PostFinding it hard to watch new films.
All the good TV shows have ruined most movies to me.

Watch old good movies instead
I watched Road to Perdition the other day. It's fine, felt it promised more than it delivered. Was loving it up until he meets Nitti, then it devolved into standard mob fare for a long time.

I watched the second one. Henry Cavill is a good Sherlock. Need a spin off starring him
It's so funny because she sounds like she's putting on an English accent even when she's being interviewed
Hoping to see the Wonder this week, Sebastian Leilo. Haven't seen any trailers or anything but intrigued by the premise: even today my parents and that generation would genuinely believe in cures/relics/healing hands.
I finally got round to watching The Vanishing (or Spoorloos as it's natively known). Enjoyed it, and the slow build up to the deeply unpleasant ending was very well done. Just a stupidly well conceived, written and acted antagonist.

If y'all like b movies, I highly recommend ninja champion. It's got a femme fatale murdering rapists, white guy ninjas, a Garfield phone and a genuinely amazing soundtrack
By Laboured Go To PostWhat in the actual fuck. She's English?
I think her first big role was in Wallander lol.
Christ her voice is irritating though what the fuck
By Laboured Go To PostSounds like he wants to revive At The Mountains of Madness.Well, he is building a solid relationship with Netflix.
If his two projects do well in terms of views, I can see them willing to finance it.
By Laboured Go To PostWhat in the actual fuck. She's English?Did she inhale some Helium before that interview?

Wakanda Forever was fine. Not as good as the first one but given all that happened, they did a decent job.
Angela Bassett was an absolute queen, Riri Williams is a great addition to the MCU and it's a shame Letitia Wright is an idiot in real life because she actually did a good job carrying most of the movie.
Namor was well handled, an interesting approach to the character that works well.
There were some nice surprises but not everything works.
I thought the Everett Ross scenes while having a purpose brought the movie down.
The part where it's revealed that Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine is his ex-wife felt silly to me despite getting a big laugh from the audience.
Speaking of audience, it was the first time in a while that I went to the cinema. People were incredibly silent during the Marvel Studios opening credit scene, simple but powerful.
Quite a few people holding up the tears or even crying in some of the more emotional scenes.
I haven't watched the first Black Panther in a while but I don't remember it having as many slow motion scenes as this one.
Some were good but it started to feel too much, Zack Snyder would be proud.
The mid credit scene was weak, not because it isn't a flashy stinger to set up the next movies but because it felt like such a stupid and predictable way to move things forward.
Overall, good but not great. Need to listen to soundtrack on it's own, there were some good songs but not at the level of the best ones from the first movie.
