True, I got the lore mixed up. I don't think there's a franchise with as many different and unconnected timelines as Halloween.
Just from the top of my head I can think of 4, the original (H1 to H6), the soft reboot (H1 & 2, H20 and Resurrection), the remake duo and the modern reboot.

It was very dull. Better than Kills because it wasn’t a fucking garbage piece of shit but it just gets it all wrong. Presents a plot I can’t imagine anyone was interested in.

I somehow ended up downloading a dubbed version, but it was pretty clear it wasnt going to matter much, with the quality of the film. How does a film only 1 hour and 40 min long, feel like it was way too long?

Trying to do whole trilogy tonight, near the third act of 2018 right now and it's ridiculous how good this movie is.
It gets so much right, from Michael being an unstoppable killing machine to exploring Laurie's theme.
It's incredible that it took so long for one of this horror franchises to explore how one of the final girls reacts to the trauma of their encounter decades after.
New Nightmare (an underrated gem) sort of does it but through a meta lens.
Edit : Jamie Lee Curtis is the fucking best. She is so good in this. Apparently she is also a really good person in real life so I like her even more.
Watched Peeping Tom for the first time tonight, thought it was very disturbing but very well shot/directed. There are some beautiful colours and framing in the film.
On Halloween 2018, I thought it was OK, but I really wish it had more of Laurie's trauma/PTSD in the film. Haven't watched Halloween Kills or Ends yet.

While I love Halloween 2018, I agree with you.
The Laurie PTSD is such an interesting angle and it could do with a little more screen time but in the end it's still a slasher movie so I get they didn't want to spend more time on it.
Kills is a weird movie, it's nowhere good as Halloween 2018 but it goes all in on the "Myers is massive destruction weapon".
The "Kills" in the title is spot on, Michael goes absolutely all out in that movie, the opening scene with the fire brigade is so good.

Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell were on the Graham Norton show to promote Banshees. They talked utter shite for 15 minutes and barely mentioned the film. But I was utterly engaged by their chemistry and charisma.

There were rumours that the mask company from 3 was going to come back in...some way, I can't really remember. I think the leaks mentioned the Corey stuff but it seemed a lot more interesting than the actual film.
